Write up on a self installed lift.

Absolutely kick a$$!!

What a cool read and very funny too :bow :xyxthumbs

Great link. Make sure you download the movie too that he has.

Yeah, scroll near the end and you'll see a smaller image of his NSX on the lift with a bold style sentence or two above it. His son is in the picture above it standing outise the garage. You can roll over it and click on it. It's an 8 MB download.

Thanks for posting the link to that thread. I've been laughing out loud here and I'm not finished reading the story! :lol

I finally viewed the video and  That garage door opener pulley cord is brushing up against that back of that NSX! I sure hope he strings that thing out of the way next time! :nervous:

Yeah, mega-long thread, but it was well worth the read. I felt so bad for this guy as I was reading it. But it's so rewarding when you have those long projects come to a positve finish. :bow

I saw the garage door opener pulley too. Hopefully, that cord is wrapped in a MF or something by now.

This one quote sums up a few of my journeys. It's nice to hear that there are others who go through the same thing.

"Well one week passes and no new news. Meanwhile I suffer the endless torture and ridicule of my family, friends, and co-workers. I am hearing from people I haven't talked to in years - calling me up as they have heard I was trying to put a lift in my garage and it wasn't going well. My closest friends know not to even ask anymore. It is all I can think about. It has consumed me and I know I have to figure this out myself, MacGyver style, as patience wasn't something I was born with."

Sooo funy :rofl

I havent finish reading it yet but I will.

Man this guy is totally crazy. Some guys really dont know were to spend there money. He have a really nice floor though.

I just try to figure out the face of they buyer when he will try to sell the house

Man, I'm glad the lift install didn't go that badly in our garage. We have a lot more room, though.

BTW, thats my beater offroad truck, still in progress. It's not pretty, but I'm sure whatever imperfections that are there can be buffed out :lol

I sort of skimmed over that thread and it looks like he did a really good job getting that lift in there.

It just seems really out of place in that garage/house. I would have looked for a house with a bigger garage first before spending that kind of money in there. Just my 2 cents.

Now that's the kind of garage I want...you have the wash bay next to that one with the lift, right? ;)

Not in this garage, but the next one will! My dad has decided to turn this garage into a guesthouse/large gameroom/party room. He then wants to build a garage nearly double this size (from 1300sq ft to 2400 sq ft). He wants to go that route because this garage is already plumbed and ready with a toilet, sink, shower, and septic tank. The next garage will be bare with no major plumbing. That will have three garage doors and one side will be designed with washing in mind. :woohoo:

oh I thought he meant an actual lift. Like he was going to do work on the car or something....

You mean that he can't work on the car from underneath? Seems rather pointless to go through all that and not be able to have access to the underside of the car. That is why I'd want a lift!

Funny story. But who or what is "Shasta"? :nixweiss
