Would you have this fixed? Wait??

I`d still put some type of sign inside the car (same style as a handicap mirror hung tag) that clearly states "DO NOT WASH,NO TIRE SHINE" on there. Remember the valet/porter guys may not have easy access to work Order and may still give it a quick run through car wash out of habit since it only takes a few minutes to destroy..i mean...run the car through the tunnel. Not everyone working at a Dealership gets paid to really care or even think before acting and with large staff and a fast pace, communication gets easily lost on a daily basis.

i added "no tire shine" because when i got my last car, i specifically said multiple times " do not wash it" and they still sprayed their tire shine on there.

It will be done !!

Heh heh...yeah, good catch. They did the same thing at a Mazda dealership when I had the MPV, they were, uhm...displeased and surprised that I made them recify the situation.

And guess you oughta also mention *cleaning the wheels*.. Had an [smart-mouthed idiot] at my Audi dealer scratch the wheels on the A8 by cleaning them improperly and he actually argued that he "didn`t wash the car". They fired him and refinished my wheels.

Well Ron, better apply for a temporary job there as a porter, that way you can move and keep an eye on your own car.

I like it !!

Can I add a caveat to the job, which is I only will move Corvettes and Camaros?

(and the occasional Tahoe)

As we`ve already discussed. Having new hardware (clips, mounts, ties, etc.) is paramount to not having things pop loose or start rattlilng somewhere down the road. You mentioned he was going to acquire such parts. This speaks volumes in my mind. Take some underhood pictures and really of anything you can see. Make sure that what is supposed to be there ends up back where it was.

Great news !

Did they talk about using paint with a flex additive so in case there was any flexing because something was pushing on it, etc., that the paint would be able to flex and not break ?

Did they look at it and tell you that they have seen this before, and even have a Factory Bulletin with the Factory process for fixing this for good ?

What was the cause of the paint failure ?

Hope it comes back perfectly done and not even you will be able to tell it was ever touched,,

didn`t ask about flex agent. He said appeared damage was caused by improper install on vents

I didn`t find a bulletin in Shopkey. But who knows how long it takes for GM to provide the info.
