Would like to switch to HD products for my shop

It seems HD is where all of the rave is at. I'd like to join in.



I've seen countless threads on HD cut and HD polish.. They seem very promising.





My question is can these two be used in a body shop where we are sanding fresh clear with 2k grit? (Meaning, acceptable correction at 90-95 percent?)



If someone could chime, in that would be great. I'am using a Makita rotary btw.
 
HD CUT is rated for removing 1500 grit sand scratches on OEM clear. It will cut through your 2K fresh paint scratches like butter. 100% body shop and fresh paint safe too. As a matter of fact, 3D just scored the account with Kemperle Body Shop Supplies and they are buying/selling HD CUT/Polish by the pallet full.

Website claims 1200 grit on cured paint.

Fantastic! We order lots of stuff from kemperle. David, or anyone can you guys recommend the different pads to use these two polishes? You have no idea how excited iam to try these two polishes. loll.. I'm taking it these are much better than m105.

HD Cut is equivalent to M105. Nothing is *much* better than M105 except M101, in my honest opinion.



I'm a huge fan of HD Polish and SPEED has proven to be a frequent flier in my arsenal.

How is the dusting compared to m105 compared to HD cut?

Perhaps you are using too much product. Here's a comment from a HD Cut review "Dusting: 5- The times I've used it have been mostly with the Rupes 21 or GG DA, with Megs or OPT microfiber pads for cutting. In this situation dust was essentially none. I tried the original sample with foam on a rotary and got no dust, so I'd imagine this revision is the same."



This is a typical comment in the HD Cut reviews.
 
just because someone has a different experience with a product doesnt mean they dont know what they are doing...i love when that is the simple answer.



it is only my experience, but i had dusting. ive been in the game over 20 years fwiw, so i have a little experience under my belt.
 
If the label claims little to no dusting, and that is what most experience (minus the few new users who for some weird reason prime the pads) what else could be?

I am sorry if you took offense to my post as none was intended. I didn't mean to imply you didn't know what you were doing only that most others are not seeing dusting so that maybe you were doing something different. While I've been detailing for years I don't have the experience with machine polishing that most of you do and perhaps that's a blessing in disguise. When I try an HD product I don't have other methodologies to change or overcome so I simply follow the suggestions from people like Thomas, David and others as to the best ways to use HD polishes--as a result my experiences have been excellent with the long working times, no dusting etc etc.

In these guy's defense, HD Speed also claims long lasting paint protection on the label and we all know that isn't the case. And I do really like HD Speed so I'm not just hating on the product.



I too get dusting from Cut and also it sticks to softer paints like the fiance's old Altima. I haven't tried it on her new Honda yet since it didn't need anything more aggressive than Speed.

no offence taken, but i cant stand when someone shares a different experience they must not know what there doing...its tiresome.

the label says its true...read it again then use it again, and maybe your experience will be different....:boink:



on a side note chrisguga, it is nice to see im not the only one who OBVIOUSLY doesnt know what there doing...
