would a steamer be worth it?

Hi guys, saw that argos have got an earlex steamer kit on sale for £35.

Would this be any good to me?

I got the earlex vac the weekend, as opposed to the george, as cash was a bit tight £43 inc 3 yr warranty, so not bad. Would it be worth it, or should i not bother?

I can't answer whether or not it would be of any use to you Paul, but I can tell you that you have now made me spend another £35.00 on car stuff ... thanks fella!

I've been tempted to get the 'Shark Steamer' from one of the shopping channels on Sky. They show a short clip of a Vette being detailed with it... although, I highly doubt the whole vehicle was done with it, as the presenter leads you to believe.

The Earlex is a good piece of kit IMHO - at less than £40 is almost disposable but mine's still going strong at 18 months and Earlex are based about 6 miles from my office - good to find a decent bit of kit made in good old Blighty I say! :brit

yes it can.....the dog got in while i was fogging up the interior. he's all fluffy now, and a whiter shade of white too

The Earlex Combivac Wet & Dry is also on offer for £35, £5 off normal price.



I used my old mans last weekend and it has a fair amount of sucking power, almost as much as Pam Anderson I am told.

I think that every JML product is cheap tat - I tried that edging paint roller once as the principle seemed good - absolutely useless, a blind man could have done a better job with a 6" brush. Took it back to Focus for a refund and suggested that they stop selling JML stuff as it would ive them a bad name :grinno:

I reckon that they could be good for cleaning door jambs and engine bays (in conjunction with Castrol GreenTec or similar) which tend to be awkward, fiddly areas to clean. In the engine bay it would use much less water then using a hose pipe so less chance of waterlogged electrics/electronis.



I guess it depends how much pressure the steam has.
