Worst Civic I have ever seen

The car looks even worse when it is right in front of you. Yeah, IP dusts like there is no tomorrow, but the end result is great. It can also leave some haze when you use the orange pad, but nothing that Final Polish or Micro Polish couldn't fix with a gray pad.

Have you tried SIP yet? In terms of dusting, the difference is night and day. After using regular IP my garage floor would look like a cokeheads fantasy.

don't know how i missed this thread? ... excellent job turning it around to where it should be! :2thumbs:

I also directed him to autopia and had him buy Ultima Paint Guard Wash, the waffle weave MF towels and other MF towels and a grit guard insert and to Lowes for the Grout Sponge and a couple of 5 gallong buckets. I am on a mission to convert him into an Autopian.

I have not. I've read that it dusts much less and I know a lot of people here use it even on their regular clearcoat. However, I don't want to go with something that strong on a conventional and ULTRA-SOFT clearcoat like the one on my Lexus.

Doc, a little mist of water really cuts the dust down, and either brush or wipe the pad with a MF towel occasionally. It worked for me when I used an orange LC pad on my PC. I have not tried IP with the rotary yet, 106 works good though!

Omg!..How does that happen to a 07 model?... Thats something I would expect from a 10yr old car. You did a great turn around job on that though!

I have a Lexus and whenever I take it in for service, I make sure they don't wash it. Those free washes at the dealer are not free at all as they end up costing you hours of polishing later. Yet, the service adviser at the dealer told me that a lot of people take their Lexus on the weekend just to have it washed. :wall

Very true. I spent a day detailing my dad's car for him once, got it looking pretty darn good for what I knew at the time. He took it to a dealer to get some routine service done and they just about destroyed the paint. Looked like they'd wiped it down with paper towels. He was so pissed I still don't think he's been back to that dealer.

Nice work on the Honda man! And it has a better ending than usual since it's hopefully not going to keep getting the same treatment.

nice work bro. reminds me of this accord i did. I won't hijack your thread with details on it but omfg it totally reminds me of this. except his was a 99 lol :bolt

Awesome job bringing that Civic (mostly, since you aren't done) back to life - hopefully he will take to the Autopian ways, if for nothing more than giving his car a higher resale value down the line.
