a few days ago i went to target and hey all sold out of vroom sheep skin wash mitts so i grabbed a vroom chenille wash mitt since i needed another mitt for the lower body of the cars that im not using the same sheep skin mitt to wash. its wash 3.99 and i hand pick the softest. yesterday i tried it out on the QX4 and i relized the foam inside is starting to break apart:confused: and some of the outside (cotten/chenille w/e it is) is  .after that i had a break and i put everything in the washing machine and set it to fabricare mode. after the wash almost the whole outter chenille mitt was gone and only the back was left! it almost cloged the drain! the faom apart also ripped apart. now i have never had a problem with putting my sheepskin mitts, mfs, towels, sponges in the washing machine before. has anyone else experienced this with a Vroom chenille mitt?

edit: ill post a pic ASAP. hopefully no one cleaned out the garbage can where i put the things that ripped apart fromt he mitt.

good to know, I was holding one of those in my hand last week debating buying it.

For once I make a smart decision, someone tell my girl

Makes me really hesitate to even try their MFs.

Do you always become hesitant to try a product from any given brand if you read of one bad experience?

I haven't tried the chenille mitt or the Vroom microfibers (well, I have a couple I use for glass) but their sheepskin mitts are high quality. Same goes for the tire dressing and glass cleaner.

Strange ... The vroom chenille mitts I bought at target are / were some of the best I ever bought . Mine are stll going storng!

You may have just a gotten a defective one. Even with the best well built cars, machines, tools, batteries, etc. There is always a chance of getting something defective. Just the way it works.

Try another one and see what happens.

I had a bad feeling about the Vroom chenille mitts. The regular $3.99 ones seemed to be very cheaply made. Not much chenille between the surface and the backing. Yesterday I went to buy a wash mitt for my Honda and checked out the "Premium Chenille" for $5.99. The backing was coming apart and there were loose strings mixing with the chenille itself so for $2 more I picked up a plush sheepskin mitt instead. The sheepskin mitt seems to be of high quality although it's darker and smells different from my Turtle Wax sheepskin mitts. Maybe it's because it's new. I've washed the TW mitts several times since buying them so there's no real odor. I handwash my mitts and air dry them.

I received a package of Vroom MF glass cleaning and buffing towels as a gift. I tried the glass cleaning towels and am impressed. I also tried their MF buffing towels for taking the NXT off the Honda and they seemed to work very nicely. Soft all over, even the edges.

Maybe it's a chenille thing?

I think the MF seemed pretty good, in fact it looked like a great deal. They didnt have any sheepskins which is why I went in the first place. They also had some polishing cloths that seemed like T shirt material, that didnt seem like sucha deal

I have to say the cotton mitts looked great but reading this thread reminded me of why I stopped using them. Keeping them clean was such a pain, it always made a mess out of my washer. Sheepskin is such a better choice for me.

i felt the MFs and every other products they had and they felt pretty good except for the premium 5.99 chenille which felt like a mop. i will not let this chenille mitt stop me from trying more Vroom products though. next time ill go to Target ill pick some Sheep skin mitt out.

the first pic of the mitt actually supposed to show the back of the mitt, dont know if you can see it. i only found that small wod of cotten in the garbage can because i didnt want to look through it all since its STUNK!. and the final pic is the picture of the foam insides which ripped apart after the first wash. btw this was only used twice and wash twice in fabricare mode with very little detergent. guess i have to use it for wheels and wheel wells now..

:shocked I can see the pics fine. What a mess!

I'm not surprised. I was able to pull out the strands of chenille very easily. It was one thing that convinced me not to buy the chenille mitt. The sheepskin seems nice though so I'll stick with those.

ill try that ASAP when i get the chance to go back to target. btw. i got to unclog the washing machine drain today. damn it was nasty! full of cotten. too bad i didnt have batteries for my camera. has anyone tried putting their Vroom sheep skin mitts in their washing machine on fabricare mode?
