Woolite leaving leather tacky.. good/bad?

After reading on here for a while, I've decided to put my OTC leather cleaner aside and try the 20:1 woolite (I have the concentrated version). So far it seems to leave the leather slightly tacky. Cleaning procedure was this:



Sprayed on, wiped off, wiped off with a slightly damp TC towel (still haven't found a MF that doesn't suck, so TC for me).



Am I doing something wrong? So far I have tested the cleaner on my motorcycle jacket, a recliner chair, and my computer chair. I feel the slight sticky/tackyness on all of them, except my computer chair which I don't even know if its real leather or not.. Plz halp?
 
It takes(I mean took) me atleast 2-3 wet towel wipes to get all that crap off the surface too. I personally don't recommend Woolite for any automotive use and switch to a dedicated quality cleaner designed for leather.
 
I Usually do a dry pass than 2 wet passes, and finally a dry one again. Remember to rinse your towel out inbetween wet passes.
 
Alright thanks for the tips. Yea I wanted to try it on some furniture before I used it on my dad's Connolly lol.
 
Woolite is meant to be used on fabrics that can be rinsed through with a huge amount of water, this is the reason that it should not be used to clean leather. The residues left on the surface will attract more dirt which will ultimately damage the finish on the leather.

Cleaning and Protecting with dedicated leather products (ones that have been tested within the leather industry) is a far simpler, safer and more cost effective way of looking after your leather. Specialist firms will also give you dedicated help if you need it when you have a problem.
