Wool with Porter Cable?

Does anybody use Wool pads with their Porter Cable anymore? Does wool have any relevance in modern polishing technology when we're using a Porter Cable to drive it? Does it only have relevance when used with a Rotary?

IME wool doesn't work well with the PC- minmal additional cut compared to foam but with a *LOT* more micromarring. More importantly, a ~6" wool pad doesn't cut nearly as well as a 4" foam pad anyhow. Leave the wool pads for the rotary.

That was my feeling.. The only function wool has had for me the last few years, is as a bed for a terry or microfiber Bonnet!

And I've gradually gotten away from using wool under my MF bonnets too. I can usually find some foam pad that the bonnets fit over OK and the foam doesn't deform/compress (and stay that way) the way the wool pads eventually do.
