Wool pad on a PC?

Is a wool pad more agressive than a yellow (or purple) foam cutting pad on a PC? On a rotary, yes, but I'm starting to wonder if the PC has enough oomph to take advantage of the wool.



I've been doing a lot of experimenting with different products using a PC and wool and yellow foam pads to go after some nasty scratches and etchings. For some reason, I don't seem to be seeing much difference between wool and foam (at 6), but maybe it's too early to tell.

CMA does sell a scratch repair kit for the PC that does include a wool pad and they have a nice page on how to use it. Might be worth a look.

Bruce - You're right, he wool is really not THAT much more aggressive than the yellow/maroon cutting pad. I'd say it's not so much a matter of whether the PC is up to optimizing the wool, but rather that the wool pad at speed 6 is just as far as you can go with a PC.



I ended up using (with considerable trepidation, which proved unfounded) the wool/FCRC combo on the XJS. It WAS more effective/aggressive than the yellow pads were, and about as aggressive as I'd want to go on that car. But no, it's no rotary. Now a MEDIUM cut (or an even MORE aggressive product) RC/wool combo might be more what you're after, but I'd worry about paint thickness.
