Wookie Fist after 6 months use once/week washes

I have to say-- it's held up like a champ. There are no visable dirt particles in the mitt, the ones that do get stuck flow right out with tap water, and it appears that my technique rather than the mitt is the cause of the very light marring on the new car.



The fur doesn't feel as fluffy as it once did, likely due to having only been rinsed off after all this time, but it's not shedding excessively, the strands are still strong and it's given no signs of having been a waste of cash.



I was going to take pictures, but there's not a lot to show off, it looks just like it did 6 months ago when I bought it.

I was slightly worried after I first took a look at it too... it's not stained, dingy or anything other than slightly soapy smelly though.



I should correct myself as well. By Fluffly, I meant 'soft'. It's still just as fluffy as before, it's simply used I suppose I would say.



If I had a complaint it would be that you're supposed to air dry it. Which takes a couple of days(even after soft wringing and 'whipping' it).. and you're not really supposed to expose it to extreme temperature (cold or hot) which probably means the 100 degree paint after the car's been sitting in the sun when I wash it, but that's what the cold water is for I hope.



It does appear to work MUCH better than the synthetic wool mitts I used previously, but I haven't compared it to another genuine wool mitt, so I couldn't tell you if it's functionally worth the cost. I do know however, that it certainly adds an aurora of sophistication when I wash the car now. That's probably what you're mostly paying for here.

CTSV- I bet it's a *LOT* better than the synthetic mitts!



My concerns are a bit, uhm...subjective in the sense that they probably only apply to my specific (and unusual) method of washing, where I need the mitt to be extremely free-rinsing; the output from the foamgun has to flush the vast majority (like 99.999%) of "stuff" out of the mitt as opposed to how people dunk/rinse/etc. mitts to clean them in the conventional way.

You mean from the inside outward? Yeah, it's basicly non-permiable leather of course, so that's a no-go.



As for free-flowing on the outside it's acutally fairly fluid. Extracting particles requires almost no agitation. I hardly ever have to clean it after a wash. My rinse cycle that I use for 2 bucket washing involves duinking it in a 5 gallon bucket of water and using both hands to just do a claw with my palm and running it up/down motion (can't describe the motion adequatly, sorry) gets 95% of debris out of the mitt.

I have a similar technique. In my area, where blatant water waste is of no concern :), I flush my mitt constantly. I don't rely on bucket dipping to clean it out. That said, the "Wookie's Fist" looks interesting. Heck, I just like saying it!

Just washed the utterly filthy Tahoe the other day, and the rinse buckets' water was nice and clean at the end of the job.



CTSV- See, my need is for it to be so free-rinsing that there's basically no need to dunk it in the rinse water, all "rinsing" having been accomplished by the output from the foamgun. That's a mighty tall order!



I have some extra-plush mitts from Griot's, and I have to be really careful about when/how I use 'em because they just don't rinse clean the way my regular ones do.



If you fill the Wookie with shampoo mix and hold it shut at the cuff, will it seep out through the leather lining at all or is it truly impermeable? With mine, it seeps out, but slowly.
