While men may be more likely to be the cause or involved in huge accidents (from driving stupidly on purpose) or honk, I would say that women seem to be the cause of just about everything else in-between...

Ok, I made that statistic up, but the ones you quoted are definitely jacked up based on careful observation of my wifes driving habits.

According to TrafficSTATS, a risk analysis study by Carnegie Mellon for AAA in 2007, men have a 77% higher risk of dying in an accident compared to women. The study, using information from both the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) and the National Household Travel Survey estimated fatalities per 100 million trips to be 14.61 for men and 6.53 for women. The total number of fatalities between 1999 and 2005 were 175,094 for men and 82,371 women.

According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), 14,512 male drivers died in 2007 compared to 5,865 female drivers, and even though there tend to be more male drivers on the road than females, the numbers strongly support the TrafficSTATS report.

Let's face it...young males are trying to prove a lot to themselves, their male friends, and female friends and ruin the numbers for different age group males. It is Animal Kingdom.

All kidding a side some men are great drivers and as are some women.

But I did have this one BF who would slam on the brake if he thought someone was tailgating him , plus he refused to go over(even one mile) the speed limit . I was terrified to ride with him. needless to say that relationship didnt last long!!

I also had a woman run me off the road once. ( we both met at a 4way stop at the same time . I was on the right so I had the right of way )Crazy woman!!
