Kind of funny you posted this. I was cruising the site last night and saw this and had thought about posting up here asking as well. So now that you have done it we shall both get answers. My thoughts on it is tyhat it may not be as effective as doing it by hand but it looks like it sure might cut down the time you spend claying.

Well according to the description lol it says it is more effective then applying by hand. That was the main reason I posted this to see if in fact it is better or not.

I think this has been discussed before, and the consensus was that it is not a very good idea. One piece of trash in the clay could equal disaster. Claying by hand is thought to be much safer.

Here's two older posts about it:

I have used and like it. I would not recommend using it for the lower panels where you are more apt to pick up large pieces of grit. I like to use the pad for light colored vehicles that have ALOT of iron deposits. Absolutely cuts down on time but I am selective when using it. Nothing replaces the sense of feel created when claying by hand.

By the time you take the clay out of the pad, knead it out (or replace the piece if it gets too soiled), and place it back in the pad how much time can you actually save by using something like this? I guess I'm just curious, as I see absolutely no advantage whatsoever to using something like this.

Never said it was a must have, if fits a specific purpose. It is not all about the time saved as much as the stress/cramps in your hand or elbow are relieved. Clay needs to kneaded either way, no time difference there. As I said you lose the sense of touch and hearing when using a PC, you have to rely on visual and would not use on the lower rockers initially. Nice to use on large surface areas such as vans.
