Wolfgang is the next NXT...

The market is flooded with products. I don't think I would have tried it without the offer. I have shelves full of stuff in my basement.

I'm in the same boat. I already have way too much stuff as it is. The offer gave me an excuse to buy some 303 convertible top stuff. Getting the evaluation kit for free was an excellent bonus.

I think it's a great product. I'd probably buy it again pending the durability testing.

To be fair, the Wolfgang twins are a two step process and NXT is a one step. WG looks very promising so far but like NXT, the true test will be durability.

I agree with both takes. I'm looking forward to hearing how well WG holds up.

All I have to say is that everything looks great on black when its in the shade. Even the most neglected surfaces can be photographed as if they were perfect at the right angles or in the right light. I'm not impressed with any product that is showcased on a black vehicle photographed in the shade reflecting brightly lit objects. I haven't seen all the wolfgang pictures posted yet, but all the pictures I've seen are on black cars. Even CMA is getting into this black car in the shade thing. The latest newsletter had that trick on it. Quit trying to fool people. Take that biznich out of the garage and shoot it in the sun. I've got a wolfgang kit too and when I take pictures of cars that I test it on I am going to make sure they include before and after shots. Without those then the photos tell us nothing.

Is Wolfgang the new NXT? I don't think so. I just think its the product of the moment and everybody loves to test and debug new products. It wasn't as hyped as NXT, so I don't think its fair to compare. Its just the latest and greatest from a company with a good reputation. I like how products like Turtle Wax's platinum series or Eagle's new products get little to no play on Autopia these days...

while the initial kit was 10.00 or less , it really has no bearing on the products outcome. Look at Eagle Ones Nano wax for an example ! It free with a mail in rebate and yet it was trashed almost immediately.

no one paid me to endorse Pinnacle Soveran, and nobody is paying me to endorse Wolfgang. Hell, if I say something bad about it, they cannot even come into my garage and take it away.

IMO .... NXT stinks. It was all hype, and it doesnt offer and do what it promised. Durability , not there ! Layering, nope ! Shine, ok its a sterile shine w. high gloss and seems to contain a color enhancer, but not what I wanted. Wolfgang filled it shoes well .... with durability being the outstanding issue.

But guess what ... I am already looking at Menzerma's new line of waxes. :shocked I find this fun ....

How can you comment on the durability of a product that has only been out for like two weeks?

Because some products do not even last that long.

Also durability, like appearance, is very personal. Everyone is not forced to drive their vehicles every day in all types of weather, exposured 24/7, on all types of road conditions and live in climates that winter last 6 months.

It is the "detailer" not the "product" but it helps when there fine products available to meet the needs of some car care people. Everyone does not need armor plating for a protectant or ultra-gloss to make the vehicle shine. :xyxthumbs

by outstanding , I meant unknown. It is too early to know durability on Wolfgang, I agree.

but ---

Most car fanatics have never really needed durability, as they clean weekly and wax/seal every month or two. This was always the main complaint with Soveran against Zaino, DURABILITY. A carnuba will NEVER last as long as a sealant (although NXT may prove that wrong) , it the nature of the beast. But that being said, very few sealants have approached a carnuba for depth, and 3D appearance. Reflectivity and gloss are not the same, but nice comparisions in a apples to oranges world.

I dont care if its 10 layers of Zaino, one layer of Soveran, 2 layers of S100/P21S, or 13 layers of Klasse SG. If your gonna add another layer sooner than later, than durability is the moot point.

NXT is still a price point product, they are looking to capitalize on the retail bargin bin shoppers. It is not a boutique product, it will never use the best ingredents, as its price point would move it outside of their place at Walmart and Target.

I can understand all of that. But he was commenting that WG has better durability than NXT, so I was just curious what that could be based on. I haven't read any reports of NXT having terrible durability and not lasting more than 2 weeks. I hear you about durability being subjective to the conditions the car is in. And you don't have to tell me that its not the product that produces the best shine. ;) I wrote the book on that line.

I've had good results with NXT. I'm not about to trade in my UPP for it or anything, but I think for an 'off the shelf' type product it does have its merits. I feel that it delivers on everything the box offers. I haven't read much of the hype threads, so my expectation of NXT wasn't as inflated as others were. For a product that people can buy at AutoZone I think it is probably one of the better ones you can get.

Totally agree Ingr. Actually I have gotten good performance, for my mild environmental conditions so far from both products. Yes, for off- the-shelf-and-down-the-street product NXT is really hard to beat IMO. I thought you were referring to my earlier post about WG after 2 weeks, "Still beads, slick and still has initial application appearance. sorry my bad. :o

Wow, things change, Meguiar's NXt line, Wolfgang, Pinnacle's new wax to compete with P21S, S100, and so on. All these new products.

Did something replace the PC?? LOL probably not.

Forget the sun....

I want a pair of 500 watt halogen lamps looking at the car's paint.....

Agree completely. For an off the shelf product, it is very good. Actually, even if it was an order only product, I stilll think it is very good.
