I did a test today to see how Wolfgang compared to Z, NXT and Collinite 476. In the pic below: (sorry, pics aren't to good, but...)
A- Wolfgang (polish and sealant) topped with 476
B- Wolgang (polish and sealant)
C- Zaino (z1 (smells like wet cow) and Z2)
D- NXT
E- Collinite 476
F- nothing (IW applied back in October)
The only prep was a drive thru wash (hey, its my wifes car) and clay (Meguirs w/Mothers Showtime QD as lube
Please excuse the nasty swirls, but like I said no prep except wash/clay. Here you see Wolfgang (on lt) and NXT (on rt)
Here you see Wolfgang (foreground) and Zaino.
Here you see Collinite 476 in the foreground.
On the fender you can see where the NXT and Wolfgang meet. The Wolfgang on the left side is noticeably darker than the NXT and has a deeper, wetter look then NXT.
In this pic you can see the different water beading charecteristics of the differenct products.
My impression was that the Wolgang and 476 were the best looking, with the 476 being slightly better (I like the carnuba look). All combos did look nice but the NXT and Z had a more artificial look while the Wolfgang added some depth and wettness the other 2 lack. 476 was the deepest and wetest on this metallic paint. All felt slick, but I think the pure wolfgang was just slightly slicker than the rest. It was also the easiest to apply/remove, followed by NXT. Z was next and 476 was the most difficult of this group to remove.
Now my non-autopian wife saw things differently. She was able to pick out the not treated panel (I didntr tell her what was done to which area). She said she likes the more reflective look in general and liked the Z and NXT looks the best. She ended up saying she liked the NXT the best. But she did say it felt a bit "greasy" where she didnt think that of the others.
In the end I left the hood as it was but gave the rest of the car a quick coat of NXT to last until I give a detail when it warms up some more. THe hood should be a good short termdurability test subject.
