Wish Me Luck, I'm Trying My New PC

Thanks andriver but I couldn't find the smaller pads on Detailerparadise. I did find them from CMA. I'll probably get it from them since I need to get more pads and the counterweight.

turborave, you definately want to have at least two sets of pads. I was wishing yeasterday that I had another Orange pad.

You know it's funny because I went to a car show yesterday I was so focused on their paint condition. :) I keep thinking,

"Yep, definately need an Orange/Yellow pad." :p

BlueDragonZ- Glad to hear it went well; the PC/1Z combo is a really good way to start!

Since PP works so well by hand, you might try just doing that in the spots you can't get with the PC and your current pads. FWIW, *I* generally like LARGER pads for tight spots, I sorta force/deform the pad into where I need it to go.

You might try working some of your remaining scratches by hand, being VERY careful not to remove too much clear. Some marring is just too deep to be safely removed, better to err on the side of caution.

Thanks for the advice. I guess I need to be alittle bit more comfortable with the PC. If I worked at it I guess I can use my current pad for the items that I want done.

Another question:

What I did to wash is to put Dawn on the foam pad over semi hot running water. I wring the water out and let it air dry. Can I use the pad without it being completely DRY?

Depends on what product you're talking about. I would *NOT* use a damp pad with 1Z polish or with SG. It *would* be OK with AIO, though.

Thanks for clariying that up. The orange pad that I use for the 1Z is the one the get caked up first. I guess I just need to orer another one.

i am still waiting to use mine!~ arg.. its sitting in its case in my garage.. i still need to order some pads.

Same here. I keep seeing the PC and my Menzerna starter kit sitting in my storage closet. Still 30's and crummy outside though and I have no garage. :(

When I start I'll have an orange, a yellow, two whites and a gray. I got the advanced 7.5" pads from CMA. I hope I like them. I stuck the orange pad on yesterday and it didn't look too bad as far as exposing the backing plate. I think I'll be more comfortable with the 7.5 pads though.

Thanks for getting me geared up even more, BlueDragonZ!

No problem :p

I was feeling the same way when I recieved my PC sometime in January.

I wasn't really worried about the backing plate but I guess you can never too careful.
