Winter tips contest

Winter is fast approaching. In Alaska I would make sure to wash the car and vacuum it so you`re not stuck with a mess all winter. Also the glass should be cleaned and coated for less buildup. The paint should be protected with a durable sealant to protect it from the road salt.

But here in Palm Springs, it`s starting to cool off, which means, let the detailing weather BEGIN!!!

My Winter Tip- clean the salt/etc. off the places that don`t show on a regular basis. Even a quickie job might prevent the oh-so-common rustouts of rear bumpers and around wheelwell lips.

For that matter, had the original owner of my `93 Audi kept the undercarriage clean it wouldn`t have needed new brake/fuel lines fabricated.

Here`s a Q on the "protect the paint from salt" thing- absent some kind of Seriously Compromised Paint Issue, does anybody really have issues with this? Not arguing or anything, I just never seem to have any problems with that. The Tahoe has lots of surfacerusted chips that I`ve never gotten around to fixing, and after numerous Ohio Winters not *one* of them has gotten appreciably worse.

You need to upgrade that 4S. Lol

Yeah tell me about it. Bout to drop 800 on a Jet Black 7. Trying to get a full time job first. Right now all I have is detailing from time to time.
