Winter...The Horror!

well, i work at a dealer, so i can wash the car with warm water and wash it by hand and use my newly bought leaf blower to dry it.

my concern is removing the snow off the car. :(

I am surprised more Canadians didn't get in on this topic. We have already had snow in the mountains and the ski areas are hoping for record amounts this year.

Best advice is before it gets too cold, use your favorite sealant and wax. Then use a coin-op wand wash bay - where they don’t recycle the water – as often as possible.

If the temperature stays below freezing the corrosion process is slowed considerably; however, when it gets warmer you need to be washing the vehicle top to bottom. Don’t forget the engine bay and undercarriage. More scary is the rock chip damage from street salting and sanding.

:scared

i always wash the car top to bottom especially in the winter :xyxthumbs

damn old lady next door will not rent out her garage  :nixweiss

Quote: any suggestions ?? i might get a cover and cover it when they are calling for snow, but i do not want so ******* to steal it since the car sits outside my house.

~One man’s opinion / observations~

Most car covers have a plastic covered eyelet on either side of the cover that you can pass their plastic covered cable through and secure it via a padlock.

The snow thing, we don’t have that problem here (FL) however hurricanes are a completely different story

~Hope this helps~

Leaf Blower! Now that's a good idea...get the water out of the jambs and seams...I like it! My garage is heated but getting as much water as possible off the driveway and the car would be good.

Snow in the Canadian Mountains? See ya and Raise ya...2 feet on Trail Ridge Road at the Continental Divide last weekend.

This does not bode well for cars...for resevoirs yes and we need full resevoirs so they don't put a moratorium on car washing... so it's a two edge sword.

Peter...hoping for as much input as he can get...in Denver
