Winter protection over NXT...

I live in the Chicago area so the conditions aren't exactly the best for my ride in the winter...snow/SALT!!!/etc.

I just did my first total detail of my truck

and after all the topics I've read about the durability "issues" with NXT wax, I'm wondering what I could put over it to give me better protection during the winter months. I'd like to keep if not improv the finish that I have on my truck now.

Thanks in advance...

Apply another layer of NXT when conditions allow. I'm going to try to reapply NXT every 6 weeks throughout the winter. I also plan to use NXT Spray Booster whenever I get a chance

Collinite 845 works really well in New York weather, so I assume it will be just as good in your Chicago.

Klasse SG over the well cured NXT and forget about it all winter.

I have experimented using NXT as a mild pre-cleaner/ protectant (like AIO)1 day prior to allow oils/solvents to completely dissipate and Sonus Sptriz pre-wipe before adding a layer of SG. I have also experimented with Zaino (Z6 pre-wipe) and there did not seem to be any problem with compatibility. Both Klasse and Zaino will take you thru the winter.

Our conditions are quite different and if we get 10-15" all winter we have had a lot of snow. Mostly rain and ice storms here.

I have at least three coats of #16 on my car, and I can absolutely say that it is one of the most durable waxes I have used to date. I look forward to having a car that will be well-protected throughout the winter months.

Many thanks to my fellow Autopians who introduced me to this timeless classic! :xyxthumbs
