2003 Tahoe Z71 – Winter Prep

Wash: (1 Hour)

Zaino Z7 Car Wash via foam gun/Sheepskin mitts

Optimum PAC/Foam Gun: Wells

BlackFire Wheel and Tire Gel: Tires, Wheels

Blower to dry

Polish: (2 Hours)

Zaino Z18 Clay

Menzerna P085RD @ 1400 using a LC Hi-Gloss Green Pad and the Metabo

Zaino ZPC Fusion @ 1100 using a LC Hi-Gloss Polishing Pad

Zaino ZPC Fusion @ 1000 using a LC Hi-Gloss Finishing Pad

*ZPC is replacing Menzerna IP, and FPII in my arsenal. ZPC knocks down swirls, has Menzerna like gloss, and there is absolutely ZERO polish haze (i.e. much easier to wipe off ‘clean’ vs. many other polishes that I like). It also leaves you with a squeaky clean, slick surface. I mixed about 1 oz of Z6 in my 8oz bottle and that eliminated any dusting issues and gave the polish a little more bite.

LSP: (1 Hour – Including dry times)

Zaino Z5Pro (zfx’d) x 2 (paint, jams, glass, wheels, lighting)

Zaino Z2Pro x 1

Z5 and Z2 were applied via a finishing pad on the PC @ 4.

I used ~1 oz of Z5Pro, and maybe a 1/2 oz of Z2Pro. I lay down a very fine mist of Z6 on the paint before applying which helps give you a thin, even coat of product.

Zaino Z6 between each coat

Zaino Z14 on the wheel flares, roof rack, bumpers, and running board pads.

Zaino Z9 on the door seals.

Zaino Z10/Z16 Mix on the flares, bumpers, running board pads, wells, tires, and seals)

Here are a few after shots:

I can't wait till Thanksgiving when I get home and get to work on my Tahoe, close to the same process But Z5pro topped with Souveran

Looks terrific! Even all the trim and fenderwells look perfect! :)

Now I am really itching to get after my car-it hasn't even been washed in a month now. Ugh.

Your 'black' Mazda hasn't been washed it in a month?!? I'd need to be on med's to pull that one off. (LOL).

Stunning Prep!! Because the Z is so durable I am not going to do winter prep lol, but rather just add another coat sometime, although it isn't needed. Great job on the writeup and stunning job on every square inch of that thing. The wells look flawless too!
