Last weekend, I did the winter prep. for my Subaru Impreza GT.

The car is mainly driven in the weekend, and especially on track.

I live about a 2.5 hours drive from the famous Nurburgring were I'm a very regular driver !

Normally it get's a wash every week (or two weeks, :hide: ) and the occaisional waxing.

About two months ago I did the whole process of polshing with my Flex Rotary.

(SFX-pads, Sonus 1-2-3, Swissol Samurai carnauba...)

This weekend I did the following steps :

  • - Was my car with Zymol shampoo, Lambswool mitt, etc...
  • -Cleaned wheel wells and tyres with MC2 citrus/orange degreaser 1:3
  • -Clean wheels and tyres with MC2 and OXO wheel brush kit.
  • -Steamcleaning door-jambs and engine
  • -Claying with very soapy wtaer as lubricant on parts were needed.
  • -Spot polishing with rotary and SFX pads : underside of doors, roof and other parts were needed, thereby using the new formula SFX polishes and DACP #83
  • -Final polishing step with AIO (small cracks, doorjambs, wiperhandles, lights, etc...)
  • -Layering 3 coats of Klasse SG, divided on Saturday and Sunday.
  • -Apllied 2 coats of Swissol Samurai carnauba wax, using Sonus Detail Spritz and a yellow foam pad.
  • -Waxed wheels with Turtle Wax wheel wax, very easy to use, wowo, leaves a very slick finish.
  • -Applied 303 on all black trim, including wheel wells and tyres.
  • -All glass with AIO, inside and outside (works way better than RainX or any other glass cleaning product)
  • -Stand back while I was wiping the sweat of my forehead....LOL

For the interior I did the following :

  • -Cleaned all vinyl, dashboard, all plastic etc with MC2 1:3
  • -Treated the whole interior with 303
  • -Steam cleaned carpets and applied all weather protection (spray can like you use the make sneakers water repellent.)

Now it's waiting for snow, for lot's of sideways fun.

My car has already done 70.000 Miles, were almost half is on track, except from minor damage on front bumper/windscreen it's total damage free.

I have ordered some Poorboys/Optimum/ and other new stuff to try out...

Track is about the only place where you can floor the car, roads here are "clogged" with traffic, road works, traffic jams and speed camera's.
