Winter abuse test

Would there be some signs it's not working well with the Collinite? Something I should watch for?

As long as it sets up normally, and doesn't show anything like "never really dries style oiliness" or pseudo-holograms, then it must be OK. I was just wondering since the conventional wisdom (maybe I oughta put that in scare-quotes ;) ) cautions about stuff not bonding to "wax"...but then Collinite's offerings always strike me as wax/sealant hybrids anyhow so :nixweiss

Heh heh, I wasn't trying to get you to look for problems you didn't know you might have! I think you woulda noticed if something was amiss.

I totally understand what your saying.. I have seen the dreaded holograms with multiple layers of 476. Nothing like that has appeared like that since applying Poxy. Since my previous application of 845 is over 3 months old maybe that may have reduced that chance or other issues?

I normally top 845 with 845, but was excited to try out my new purchase.

Update on beading: We got a little bit of snow/drizzle today and I noticed how tight and small the bead of water were on the hood. By the time I got a few blocks down the road from work, they had rolled off to leave a dry hood. pretty nice.

Could well be the case.

Understandable!

Sounds like you've found a good one in the Poxy. Wonder how it'll last for you.

update--so I detailed my brother's carthis weekend which had 476 on it from i believe october...and i'm still somewhat impressed that there were some parts that still had remnants of beading after a taw/dawn wash but for the most part, the protection was gone.

though I would've liked a bit more longevitiy out of the 476, considering that i didn't take too much effort to take off the 205 oils--I'm thinking maybe that had something t odo with it; that and the severe abuse this car got as a dd.

all in all i'm happy with the performance of the 476s but thinking i might convert to fk1000p for many projects to come.

I put down 915 on the car this weekend and we'll see how that fares--my fathers car seems to still bead tight pearls of beauty =]

That's what I've done for the most part, replaced 476S with FK1000P. But I don't think the FK1000P will work as well over many products that fill/conceal, and so for vehicles I can't/won't get awfully well corrected the 476S still has its uses.
