Windshield rain repellent

I believe Aquapel chemistry was originally launched by STP as Vision Blade. Never tried it but I know the product claimed to utilize proprietary PPG technology.

Only question I don't think has been asked, so I'll bite - what's the application like?

I keep seeing that they were marketing this to 'professional installers'. Is there some unusual application process, or was this just their idea of smart marketing?

You are correct on STP attempting to market the product a few years ago.

Was packed in a glass tube, that you broke and applied.

Seems there were a few lawsuits over that packaging and some people being injured.

The new packaging and applicator is the tube encased in a plastic applicator, with "wings" on it. You squeeze the "wings" and it breaks the enclosed glass tube, which then soaks the built-in felt applicator pad.

You just wipe it on and let it dry, then wipe off with a clean paper towel.

There is not way you can cut your hand, have it get in your eyes etc.

However, from personal experience, don't have your nose close to it when you snap the wings, the solvent, when first hitting the air, is strong smelling stuff.

You can not save any unused portion as air is the catalist that creates the cross-linking and it cures real quick.

How far does the one tube go?? Will it do an entire car...front, sides and rear?? Is it marketed in only that one size?

H

I found a site that sell Aquapel tubes, which according to the site owner, will treat a full car....windshield, sides and rear. He did not say if that means a truck or a regular car, but you can write to him and ask. The price per tube....$9.50 That is a lot better than $19.50 that the other site was asking. It doesn't say anything about shipping, but I will email the owner again to get more details. It would be great if a group buy can beat that price! Check it out for yourself:

Speedy

They seem to specialize in truck metal polish, but they have Aquapel as a side dish....

The shipment of the AquaPel will be shipped out in the morning to Mike, he will let you know when it arrives.

How much will they cost?? Also, do you have any special tips to share with us for application?

H

Cost is not up to me, but he got a good price, just that he has to figure in shipping and the like.

Will be as good as any you have seen though, I believe.

I am waiting to find out what shipping is to me. If you get in on the Neat Items group buy I am sponsoring, I don't think 1 Aquapel will bring the weight up, so there is no shipping. But I can't say for sure. NI group buy is on abay

I was curious about this product repelling water on the windshield. I called their 800# and the guy said that it does not put a film down which repells water. He said it cleans off all the dirt and grime so well that the water streams off of the glass much better. If anyone was interested.

My problem with windshield rain-x type things is that after 2-3 weeks, during rain they leave puddles on the windshield and become greasy. Does Aquapel do this? What does it do when the coating is diminishing and how do u go about re applying.

I don't know....I applied the Aquapel 2 weeks ago and it works so well that it not only repels rain off the windshield, we haven't even had a drop of rain since! Now that is a winner.....
