Windshield has small white specks

How do i polish the windshield or cover up all the white specks off? My widshield is pitted and i want to know how can i cover up the hundreds of small white dots? Thanks
 
Sounds like the white specs are in the pits. I would try clay. Not shure if it would get into the small pits though.
 
Pits are basically small chips, right? Other than replacing the glass, I don't know of any consumer-line product that can magically fill them in. I've heard of some shops using a sort of filler and vacuum for pits, but I have no idea as to the price or outcome.
