Windscreen Polishing

Hi all, I have some very minor water mark on the front windscreen. Is it OK if I use PC with MG W-8006 Polishing Pad to apply #83 DACP on it for water mark removal? Will it mar the glass? Thanks!

Lowejackson, I have AG Glass Polish. But I'm wondering how does AG GP could do the cutting work if water spots had etched into the glass if it's non-abrasive. Please enlighten, thanks.

I am not sure about this but I believe the polish does have some abrasives mixed in with the chemical cleaners.

The AG have never failed to remove water spots on my glass.

Can water etch glass :nixweiss

If AG GP can remove water spots done by British hard water, then I think it shouldn't be a problem for me. Thanks for your help. I will try to use AG GP using W-8006 tomorrow. :up

Good luck. I would firstly clean the glass with vinegar before using the PC. This way your polishing clean glass and reducing the possibility of dirt causing any damage.

Thanks. I will clean the windscreen thoroughly first before polishing to prevent from scratches being instilled by the dirt.

i'm pretty sure water spots will etch glass if left to bake on too long, this is what happened to my fathers car, even my fav autoglym glass polish didn't get them off with some effort...

I've some luck removing the water marks using DACP with PC running at around 5000opm with MG Polishing Pad. AG GP doesn't work at all in removing etched glass. I guess it's designed to remove dirt and stains only.

Try some white vinegar on a cloth before wasting more of your valuable detailing products. White vinegar always does the trick for me, along with a good claying.

Strange, it has never failed for me, maybe the water in Cumbria is purer than elsewhere :nixweiss
