Windows

I know Big Boi is asking about streaks from cleaning windows. But I wonder if the problem he's having is that the windows have some other kind of gunk/contamination. As kbshadow said, claying would be a good idea. In addition, I recently clayed my windows, and followed that with Z12 (Zaino's glass polish). YEEEEeeeeHAW! Perfect glass. Now, I can easily clean my windows with only a damp MF.

Big Boi - (Belated) welcome to Autopia! I've tried the MF's from Target, and I sure wouldn't use 'em on MY car (use 'em around the house though). The "glass" one (blue and textured) is ~OK for glass, but it's sorta rough for use on your tint film. You'd be FAR FAR better off to get some MF's that work on glass, paint, etc. I just LOVE ones from

YoSteve

No linting, no problems :up .

BTW, claying your EXTERIOR glass wouldn't be a bad idea, but DON'T try it on your tint!

I simply use a damp normal MF inside and out (using the up-down and side-to-side method) to give it a good clean and follow up straight after with a special window MF from microfibertech.com (although a normal MF would be sufficient).

Windows come out crystal clear on both sides and not a streak :xyxthumbs

Edit - I also use the 'spatula' method recommended by lowejackson on this forum. Using a spatula with a MF wrapped around the end (the square, flat bit), you can get into the bottom crevice of the front and back windscreen with ease. Gets rid of all those nasty hidden streaks ;)

What a novel idea! I'll try the spatula out. Now smarty pants, give me a good excuse to give the wife when the spatula is in the garage :)

Sounds like a trip to the local Target kitchen department would be in the best interests of family harmony here!! You never know which will be the FINAL straw. :)

Have had great success with both Stoner's Invisible Glass and Eagle One's 20/20. The key is the buffing. Usually finish up with a light coat of Rain-X.
