windows?

KleanFreak

I need more sugar!!!!!!
what do you guys and gals use for a method on the best looking windows? Ive used everuthing from steelwool to newspaper and still never great results

I normally use Poorboy's Spray & Wipe for general window cleaning. For polishing exterior glass and plastic, Poorboy's Pro Polish or ClearKote Vanilla Moose work well.

Blue surgical (huck) towels work wonders. Sometimes if glass has a film buildup, will use denatured alcohol mixed 1:10 with water.

KleenFreak, Are you dealing with a particular symptom at this time, or just a general question?

Stoners and a Mega Plush Towel from Poorboy's for me :bigups

On heavy duty crud, I have used Pro Polish, SSR2, and Meg's DACP with success.

This is the method I use to clean interior windows:
1- Apply window cleaner, such as Stoners Invisible Glass directly to a towel. Do not spray the glass, as the over-spray could reach other interior surfaces.
2- Using the towel, proceed to clean the inside of the windshield, the interior windows and interior mirrors.
3- It’s usually a good idea to clean the inside of the front windshield a second time.
4- Using a clean dry towel, thoroughly wipe interior glass a second time. This step will help remove any remaining streaks.

This is the method I use to clean exterior windows:
1- Apply window cleaner directly to a towel. Do not spray the glass.
2- Using the towel, proceed to clean the outside of the windshield.
3- To remove bug and road residue from the windshield, apply window cleaner to the scrubbing side of a sponge. Scrub windshield thoroughly and clean again with window cleaner and a towel.
4- Clean all exterior windows and mirrors.
5- Using a clean dry towel, thoroughly wipe exterior glass a second time.

Whatever product and towels you do chose to use....

on the inside, work side to side -- on the outside work up and down (or vise-versa)

This helps locate the streaks when they appear.

For me, I prefer to use Auto Magic RTU. (It might not be the cheapest, but from my experience using it for 15+ years, 45 cents of product is worth more to me than $2 worth of labor)

That sounds like very good advice!

If you use Stoners and a mf I don't think you'lll have streaks. Sounds crazy huh? But that has been my experience. No streaks, none, zilch, narry a one. Sometimes a missed spot but NO streaks. Stoners Invisible glass and mf. After I get them clean I just spray them with Spay & Wipe and wipe clean with a mf while I"m doint the rest of the truck...daily or almost daily.

Whatever you use spray it on the mf when doing interior windows. Saves spotting your dash, upholstery, etc.

It seems like when I use a MF on glass it just grabs and will not move easily across the glass, it's very annoying. When apply product it's not as bad because the product lubricates the cloth. Drying is the tough part. Anyone else have this happen?

what's denatured alcohol? I do have a film buildup on one of d car and it's really nasty when it's raining, I tried with dish washing liquid and autoglym glass polish, as well as meguiar DC polish, no luck . It's quite dangerous driving at night and if it's pouring :wait :wait , the windows r seriously in terrible state ( the previous owner didn't take good care of them)

stoners

Stoners and Eagle 20/20 work really well. Just spray one side of MF towel and wipe. then turn towel over and buff dry.

circus,

not sure exactly the chemical nature of DA, but it's available at hardware stores, WalMart, and the like. Usually found near paint supplies, like laquer thinner and solvents.

Had a problem with horrible film build-up and water spotting on my glass from the sprinklers. None of my glass cleaners would touch it. Tried 10:1 denatured alcohol/water, sprayed on, let dwell, LIGHTLY srcrbbed with #000 steel wool, dried then final cleaned with Stoner's.

But for maintenence, Stoner's or Sprayaway with surgical or MF towels work perfect.
