Window cleaner!!!

I am looking forward to hearing your suggestions on what the good glass cleaners which can be mixed from concentrate are. I currently use sprayway glass cleaner and I love it, but with 4 price hikes just within the last year I am ready to move to something else. To save money, I would like to move to a product that I can mix from concentrate. I work on high end cars that command the best. I cannot have streaks, ruin tint, or offer a job that is below perfect. Any products that you find work very very very WELL?:think2

A lot of people use Stoner's invisible glass. I use that as well as some ONR. Great shine and no streaking =]

for the windows, what are you dilluting the onr to?

I can't imagine anything being cheaper than Sprayway. It's like $8 for a 4-pack at Sams Club...

Wouldn't Stoners be almost identical to SprayWay?

Go to an autoglass replacement shop and ask to buy a case of 12 next time they order one in...

I know the glass shops pay about $30-$35/case of 12 cans, so thats like $3/can even with a small markup.

ONR will be tough to beat from a price and versatility point of view (and you may already have it). Though ONR has very good cleaning ability, I've experienced a lot of times when it wouldn't be able to cut through various contamination films. Things like tough environmental contamination or interior glass plasticizer film.

FK makes a very nice glass cleaner that can be diluted.

You can order it directly from Stoners website and a 12 pk is $35.70 with free s&h.

using a QD works well to clean glass as well. i use IG on the inside of my tint, and FK425 on the outside glass as well as on the rest of the car...

Too bad they don't ship to Canada, but thats a great deal and definitly something everyone should think about!

1 can lasts me MONTHS of professional detailing... A case would last years.

And it cuts through EVERYTHING.

i bought a 4pk of IG at sams club for around $5 IIRC when it was on clearance (seasonal item) and i'm still on the first can... :)

I have both Stoners invisible glass, and Sprayway. Just like my window tint associate, I prefer Sprayway. It foams better and more visibly and leaves a streak free shine. *I* feel that it cleans a little better than Stoners...but Stoners is a great product too. I use them somewhat interchangeably.

is it window tint safe? and what are the suggested dillutions? Thanks:tribe:

Yes it's tint safe and the ratio is 4 ounces of concentrate to one gallon of distilled water. Use only distilled water. You can buy the Zep at your local Home Depot. It's green and clearly states on the label safe for tinted windows. Make sure you only buy that one as I'm pretty sure Zep has another version that is not tint safe. You'll absolutely love this stuff.

i would buy a glass cleaner by the gallon which would save me some $'s, but i don't go through it that quickly and i wouldn't want it sitting around. between using a QD (for the outside) and glass cleaner (for the inside), one can/bottle of glass cleaner lasts a looong time for me...

I'm shocked that no one has mentioned Meguiars Detailer's Line Glass Cleaner. Mixed 10:1 a gallon goes a long way. The hands down best results. I've been using it for about 3 years now and WILL NOT SWITCH!!! All of my cars are tinted and they have not fallen victim to any problems. As far as streaks go, pay attention to your towels.

I tried the stoner IG stuff, because people here recommended it, but I was not impressed. I thought it smelled awfully strong, maybe ammonia?... But the only reason I tried it was because I ran out of Meguiars NXT glass cleaner.. That stuff is amazing, and my absolute favorite.

Although.. it is a mystery.. local auto stores used to carry the NXT glass cleaner.. then it seemed to vanish.. so i ordered a 6 pack for $41 from amazon, and I am happy again. It is tint safe, smells great, and leaves the best streak free windows i have been able to get.
