Will this work?

Since there is no 220 Volt UDM released (not even sure when it will come out...), I'm looking for some alternatives.

There are no orbital polishers in my price range in Europe ($100-$150), so I thought maybe I can buy an orbital sander instead and use as polisher?

What about this?:

Dewalt D26453 Random Orbital Sander

Dual-plane counter-balance fan reduces vibration and user fatigue.

Controlled Finishing System controls pad speed and minimises gouging during start up.

Sealed 100% ball-bearing construction provides longer life.

I don't know much about sanders/polishers, can anybody tell me if that thing would be suitable for use as polisher?

Thanks in advance ;)

Yeah, but it's $300, too expensive for me :(

What about that DeWalt sander - would it be ok for polishing?

Ouch, bummer. I thought it was $150.

I have the same sander but I only use it for woodworking. If I had to guess I would say the orbit size is too small for detailing. The pad would hardly move. Just my thought, maybe someone else can say for sure.

What's the orbit size of PC 7424, UDM, and Megs G220?

What if the orbit is too small? It will work as a rotary?

Yeah, you were right, the orbit is too small :( DeWalt has 2.1mm orbit, while G220, PC, and UDM have 7.9mm orbit...

you need something with 5mm to get a nice cut.

Look at the bosch or gmc and metabo.. they have 5mm orbits.

Oh..., it's no use looking for an alternative, too difficult to find anything...

You are lucky, can even choose between PC, UDM and G110 at almost the same low price (approx $150)...

I guess I will give up and just buy a voltage transformer and use the American tool.

Any thoughts what's better - UDM or Meg's G110?

I earlier waited for UDM 220 Volt version, but now I think I'll just get a transformer and buy a 110 Volt unit...

Any thoughts/feedbacks what's better - UDM or Meg's G110?
