Will this buff out? Possible Clearcoat Failure?

This has to be the HOTTEST taxi cab in Manhattan!

Sorry for the blurry pic, I was trying to get to my train and take a pic at the same time!

That was a vehicle fire. The arson guys have to check things out before it can be towed away.

It was there when I went to work in the AM and they were just getting ready to tow it when I snapped this pic as I left around 6PM.

I am curious to know what made it go up in flames. Obviously some front end damage, airbag deployment.......but it looked like a relatively new cab...probably way under 60K original miles. Most cabs I get into have 200K plus on the odometer (Who knows about the motor).

There are "chop shops" on the west side that just work on cabs. They work 24/7 and they are always swiping parts from other cabs etc. Pretty crazy area over there.

Talk about needing a FOAM GUN for this bad boy! LOL

The front bumper is made of plastic over styrofoam, and the hood is bent up because the firefighters used a Halligan bar to pry open the hood. In an engine compartment fire, the cables almost always melt, necesstating prying the hood open.

The fire probably burned hot enough to melt the sensor in the bumper, triggering the airbag deployment.
