Will the weatherman be right??

Get ready for another round of snow. I'm up here in the northwest corner and didn't get any of that snow, but this time i don't think i'm going to be so lucky.
Talking anywhere between 6-12 inches:snow:
 
seems you jinxed here in chicago where were expexting 10-12" by wednesday morning :wow: snow falls for the month dec were more then adequate its time for spring :bigups..btw hello to all

we are expecting between a dusting to 2 feet ... that's what I call covering your ass as a weatherman :wall

Well as predicted, this am's temps were in the mid 20s, though the wind is not yet a noticeable factor. Still lots of ice from yesterday's rain.

They are cautiously predicting 3" (that is inches not feet) snowfall between tomorrow and Thursday. Probably insignificant numbers for you folks up north, but we aren't well equipped for that kind of stuff.

I don't think anyone is ... :idea I think I'm staying home tomorrow and we'll take the day off from shipping :cheers:
 
I figured all of the northern states could handle that amount easily. Mrs. Clean's employer is based out of Denver, CO. They laugh at us when we talk about winter weather events.

only people with the right vehicle and driving ability should go out in that kind of weather
 
We are possibly looking at sleet on Thursday morning here in Houston. I just wish the snow and cold would go to the Winter Olympics where it is well above freezing right now. A Winter Olympiad without snow just doesn't make sense.
 
Everything is closed here. Wife and kid are home from school.

We don't even have 1/2" on the ground yet.

Got a call from the town and they said it's really supposed to start here about 1:00. With totals from 10-20".

The Texas Hill country where I reside is calling for a chance of snow. How long it lingers depends on how warm the ground is when it happens.Let us hope that there are not any freezing temperatures during this snow fest. It will be a mess in central Texas to get to work if the snow lingers. I am so lucky to be retired and not have to worry about going anywhere.

It is a far cry from my days in the interior of Alaska where a man warms himself twice if he burns wood. Now the only time I get warm twice is when I pay the electric bill each month. It helps heat the house and it burns me each month when I pay for it. LOL!

right now it would have been great for just a chance of snow ... I can see over 6" sitting on a plant outside my window :(
 
Most of you DC members had seen my crazy dog "JACK" in the last snow storm that we had, well this is her attitude about this storm.

All the major highways around here are closed and the police just announced on the local news that if people are out on the roads driving, they first will be warned to turn back and go home. If they are caught driving a second time it will be a $300 fine.

good for them :rockon I'm watcing local news and there are cars, trucks, and semis all stuck in the snow causing problems ... emergency vehicles are at risk with all these people driving about :mad:
