I'm looking for a quality car cover for use inside my garage to keep dust off of a clean car. I would appreciate any help locating a location to purchase a custom sized cover. Also any info on what type of material would be suitable for my uses would be great. Thanks :)

I just happened upon one at a Super Kmart one day and grabbed it and ran. I have a garage thet ruck sets in, but it gets dusty, so thats all I wanted it for. Not all that bad for 30 bucks. But check out www.performanceproducts.com And they should have some. I know they have at least 3 different kinds for Explorers alone, so they should have at least 3 for your vehicle. Hope this helps a little :)

California Car Covers has a pretty wide selection of covers, and they do custom work. There website is www.calcarcover.com

The have a cover call the Dustop. It is made for keeping dust off cars that sit in garages, and it has flannel like softness on the inside of the cover to reduce chances for scratching.

I have a calcarcover dustop cover for the Porsche - my requirements were like yours - protection indoors from dust while stored. The advantages of this material - very soft, flannel like surface touches the car - so minimal scratching - and not bulky. The downside of course is it won't do you any good in the rain or snow. I have used it outdoors on sunny days but wouldn't make a habit of it. I think it is a good way to go.

I also have a "NOAH" material cover for my M5 - it is OK for outdoor use. But it IS significantly bulkier and not as nice a material against the car.

If you're here at all you probably keep your finish in good shape. If you cover your car alone (which I do all the time) your cover WILL slide around on the paint - the paint is just so slippery that gravity will do its thing. So make sure whatever you get is a good fit, and that it will protect your paint. I always put my cars away clean, and I usually detail-spray them before covering to minimize the chances of dragging abrasive dust around with the cover.

Ditto on the Dustop from Cal Car Cover. I have one for the XKR. We do not drive it much in the winter. I am happy with the cover.

I am looking to order one ASAP - at least before Springtime - and would love to order it through PAC. (I know that the idea of PAC carrying a steam cleaner was tossed about in the Tuesday night chat a month or so ago...)
