Will Mothers Reflections remove glaze?

I have been using Mothers Reflections on my silver wheels and it really deepens the paint on them and looks great. I originally bought it for use on the wifes metallic green SHO but have not had time to properly prep the surface first so I haven't used it yet. Mothers states that Reflections contains mild cleaners so I was wondering if anyone knows if the cleaners are strong enough to remove glaze applied prior to using the polish. I don't want to spend the time to glaze if it's just going to be removed by the polish. Maybe Forrest will chime in.

I would think so if it says it contains cleaners. It sounds like a clean and polish product all in one.

Those are my thoughts also. Just trying to see if anyone knows for sure.

Reflections has very light cleaners in it, so yes, it will remove Glaze.

I keep begging for a Reflections without cleaners, but the chemists say there's no demand for that type of product.

Prove me wrong KS. You can e-mail chemist@mothers.com with your .02

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply Forrest. I'll e-mail the chemists and tell them we NEED a reflections without the cleaners (well, at least I want one). I guess I will use a paint cleaner (MPPC) followed by the Mothers Foam Pad Polish for dark cars to prep the surface then top it with Reflections. Should really look good on the dark green car.:up

forrest,

When the Reflections line first came to market, I seem to remember 2 products, a cleaner and a protectant. Or was it a car wash and protectant? Which is this correct?

A Reflections without cleaners that could be layered. Now your talkin!!!!That would bring you back to the car buffs that got you started. I am not talking about the trick paint jobs but those that bought you mag polish.

Market the new reflections just like that : its gets better and better and better with each layer. Whats the matter with your chemist? Doesn't he get it. He reminds me of my first wife, very hard headed but then she said the same about me.

BTW: Never marry a woman that is bigger than you are!

It'd be nice if they made a pure sealant Reflections. Or even push regular Reflections a bit more heavily up north here (like Canadian Tire -hint hint ;)). NuFinish has the run of the store shelves right now.

I think the decision not to make a cleanerless Reflections is purely a marketing and profit issue. If they made something like that, it'd (partially) compete with Mothers existing 3-Phase system. Also, I guess they don't think the market is large enough to warrant making this.

Brainstorm: I just realized something - Mothers can revamp their 3-Step system to include Reflections (even their existing version). I had been writing up a "layman's" waxing article for some friends and something I recommended was substituting a sealant like Reflections for Phase 2 (the glaze). Then Mothers can market it with 2 options: Phase 2a Glaze for those who want the best look and like to wax and glaze often, and Phase 2b Polymer for those who want more longer lasting protection.

That sounds pretty "enthusiast oriented" to me, since Meguiars doesn't even make a consumer-level sealant.

EDIT: I just remembered Megs makes Medallion, but I've maybe seen 2 dusty bottles up here. For some reason I also seem to remember that it doesn't last as long as promised either?
