Will layering a wax effect the durability of UPGP?

Hey guys, I've been told layering wax over zaino is probelmatic for the durability. The oils or something battle with the polymer or something for bonding and durability is compromised. Is the same true with UPGP?

I ask not just because I may want to layer a wax over UPGP, but am also considering using a Wash and Wax shampoo.

The issue with putting a carnauba over a sealant is that you will no longer be able to layer the sealant (because it won't bond to the wax) not that the 'nuba will "destroy" the underlying sealant.

Can Ultima Paint Guard Plus be applied over another manufacturer's wax product?

You bet! Although we recommend first using Ultima Paint Prep Plus, many people have used Ultima Paint Guard Plus over other (fully cured) wax products with very good results. In all cases, Ultima Paint Guard Plus will increase gloss and durability.

From what the FAQ says you can layer it over a wax?

Well, I was referring the traditional Autopian view of layering sealants and waxes; I haven't used Ultima so I can't speak to whether that is different. The other WOWA products (particularly Z-CS) claimed that capability but I don't see many people posting about it.

I feel as if layering a wax over my Zaino does compromise the Zaino's durability. I would just use something like Z8 or CS and Z8 as they will look just as good as any topper and actually improve durability. It is a win win situation IMHO. And I have tried a few different waxes from Clearkote to PS to Zymol Concours as my toppers.

Or how about sandwiching a glaze like RMG in between. Seems like people are starting to do that with DWG.

DWG is acrylic, so sealants will bond to it. RMG contains oils that will affect some sealants bonding abilities.
