Will Collinite 845 "eat through" Power Lock

Explanation was that 845 has lots of solvents, which in turn eats through Power Lock.

I'm not saying it does or does not. I just want to know what people think.

Could make sense. It does smell that way. I kinda wonder if I'd just use the Collinite anyway as it might just be more durable than the PL.

Quite frankly, Collinite lasts so damned long I don't honestly know how one could tell. I use it over DG 105 and the surface is super slick and the protection lasts a long, long time. The solvents in it are used as carriers I believe and help it cure and dry.

I agree, the solvents will remove whatever is underneath IMHO. You do not need PL with 845, 845 is very durable and good looking on its own.

Try it and let us know.

IMHO
if the pl is cured porperly and you spread teh 845 thin, it should be fine.

Ron may be right here. IMO, I've found 845 to last way past my expectations on many occasions. If for some reason I know I won't be washing/waxing the DD for a while, I just grab the 845 9 times out of 10.

The 845 is bullet proof a true stand alone product why use the PL at all...

Others say its a hybrid product, I have used it over bfwd and never saw a difference.:inspector:

If you have the time and patience, you could always apply Powerlock to half of a test panel (maybe a hood or trunk?) and then apply 845 to the entire panel and then wait to see if the Powerlock/845 side lasts any longer than the other side.:)
