Wife's G35 Keyed This Morning

Hello All -

I don't post much anymore. New job has me very busy, but I still follow DC and seem to learn something new every time I log-on.

This post is just a quik rant for me. My wife's G35 was keyed this morning and I need to blow-off steam with people who can appreciate my frustration. I'm trying to play it cool for my wife's benefit, but right now I'd just like to get my hands on the culprit. :beat

The damage is bad, spanning both passenger doors. No pics, as I just went to her office to investigate the damage. Worse part is that all indications are it was done by one of her co-workers... can't wait to get the evidence together and see where this goes.

Well, I've got meetings stacking-up so I need to run. Hope you all have a better day then my wife and I are having right now.

BTW-the EX-P+ on her car is holding-up like a champ. Almost 5 months and it still looks great... except for the key damage.
 
Sorry to hear that. Hopefully they can find out who did it, and if was a coworker, they need a close encounter with an axe of a different sort.
 
Thanks for the support. People just have no respect anymore, and yeah, it looks like a co-worker did it. We'll see what happens.....

So... my wife's not feelin' so hot about the appearance of her car after all this, and she inadvertently parks under a large pine tree this afternoon. :eek

The second pic is from a few hours under the tree (cue the Psyco soundtrack!). Time for me to go now... its raining, but somebody's gotta wash the crap off!! :lmfao:lmfao:lmfao:rofl :rofl :wall
 
I'm very sorry and angry for you as well :angry From a quick look at the photo, I'd say some careful, patient work with a rotary ought to get it looking a lot better. I hope you or a good detailer makes it looking good again. :bigups
 
Sorry to hear that happened, and I hope that you can find out who did that to your wife's car.

I feel your pain. My wife had her truck keyed by our neighbor. Just couldn't prove it well enough to do anything about it. Fortunately ours was just in one door. After having it fixed the neighbor sold and moved. But two years later we have a new scratch o the side of the box. Mostly the truck just sits in front of the house until we need a truck. After the first incident I bought a surveillance camera to cover the truck. They were smart enough not to do it again so it was for naught.

Is there a surveillance camera anywhere near your wife's car that might have caught the act on tape?

I just get so mad that people can get away with this because there's nobody that cares but you and your wife. Sad to say. Hope you find out who did it and can make them pay -- in more ways than one of course.
 
Man, that sucks. I hope the people who did it get in big trouble.

By the looks of the pic, I would think that those scratches can be removed without a lot of trouble. Provided that you have at least a PC and some DACP or SSR2.5 (you made need something more aggressive & rotary). It's really difficult to tell without seeing/feeling it in person.

Hope it all works out for you.
 
Thanks for all the support... its greatly appreciated. You know what really sucks? I've have several cars keyed, from daily drivers to show pieces, but my wife has not and dealing with the damage is nothing when I see how frustrating this all is for her.

The pic of the damage is not very detailed... honestly, I didn't want to get too close-up since y'all would have seen how negligent I've been in my detailing duties lately! :D

The depth of the scratch is not consistent. In a few of the parts I'm sure a PC and SSR2.5 or 3 would do some good, in most areas a rotary would be required... but there are 3 specific parts where I think we might be in trouble.

Our insurance guy is a good friend and client. He wants to get some damage pics for a claim if needed, and he asked me not to do anything with it until then. Of course that's not going to stop a good DC'er, and I've already worked a test area... I'll get more into it tomorrow night.

You couldn't be anymore right with that statement. I had a few words with my wife's management Friday afternoon, and it was like talking to the wall... they really don't care! One of the fools said something similar happened to his car and he suspected another employee... I asked him what he did about it and he said NOTHING!! Sometimes I wonder.....

Yep, that could very well be........ without seeing it up close. If there's a good pro detailer near you, he may be able to assist you if you're not comfortable taking it on yourself. He may even be able to tell you if it needs a re-paint.
