wife said no more detailing

The wife said no more car detailing until I do some yard work. All the vehicles are in good condition so they just need a little cleaning here and there. We have a trip coming up so I mentioned I need to wash the car before the trip, which meant that I would be washing the night before we leave. Wow!!! If you could have seen the look on her face and then the comment. If you think you are going to spend all night washing and waxing the car while I pack all the stuff you are out of your mind. Yesterday my ONR and opti-seal arrived. I had the whole exterior done while she was cooking dinner and she did not know I did it.

I really like the ONR, this is going to be nice for the late night and winter washes in the garage. The Opti-Seal is put over a three week old application of #16. I did notice a little streaking in some spots. I probably put it on too thick, I hope some quick detailer will take care of it when I pull it out in the sun. I will see how it holds up to about a two thousand mile road trip. We leave in a few hours.

LOL, man that's a funny title. But all kidding aside, I feel you. I would reccomend listening to the wife or she may just leave you, JK...just keep the detailing on the down-low (don't spend so much time washing/polishing/waxing) and she won't be that bothered.

HAHA! That is a neat thread title for sure. My wife is very understanding about detailing, although I can tell she gets annoyed sometimes when i am in the garage yet again, detailing the car.

Hire some kid to do the yard work (while she's out) and take credit for yourself.

If momma ain't happy, ain't nobody gonna be happy!

If I were still single I'd probably wash my daily driver more than once a week, and polish more than once a year. However there are so many easy to use waxes and sealants now that keeping the cars shiny and slick is not too much trouble. I do my share of yard work and I cook on weekends so I get some slack. Throw a rack of ribs on the grill, wash your car, and if she asks what you're doing say you're cooking! It also helps to keep the inside of her car nice & clean!

ONR is a godsend in the winter.

Not too many kids left who are willing to do yard work or snow shoveling anymore.

I'm blessed! My wife loves detailing, she is the expert with interiors, I do the buffing. She was nuts about keeping a car clean when we first meet. Tomorrow is our 17th wedding anniversary, I'm hoping for many, many more!

Like i tell my wife, "And what do you think pays for your trips?" I still lose, Im taking all of August off, away from the UDM, and any chemical related to detailing......

Just be careful. You'll know you're doing too much detailing when you wake up in the morning and say "good morning baby" and you're talking to your car and not your wife. :bolt

I just tell the wife that I am gong to stop and go to the local casino, she replies with something like, keep wiping, you missed a spot or is mine next?

Man, if my GF said no more detailing, I would just laugh. I cant stand when women think they can "tell" what to do (same with guys that do the same thing). It's something you love, so she needs to get over it.

Sorry, I just got a little rampage out of me. Let us know how the ONR goes!!!
