I've been using my PC a lot lately on friends cars and my own and i've mentioned a few times that i would really like to upgrade to a Flex polisher.

The wife listened....i turned 30...and Bam. Flex is on the way.

Regarding supplies i have

LC 6.5 inch

Yellow, Orange, Coarse Green, White, Blue/Black/Red

LC 5.5 inch (i'm pretty sure i can't use these with the flex)

Orange, White, Black

Poorboys SSR 2.5. SSR 1

Menz 203

HD UNO

Adams Swirl & Haze Remover.

Any other suggestions on polish's/pads to get that work well with the Flex?

Thanks very much.

If u plan on doing more and more cars down the road, get some more of menzerna polishes and m105 and m205... Those are the only polishes I keep in my arsenal!!

You will love HD UNO. Get some PFW pads and some Micro mesh black wool pads. Trust me.

Another question for you guys.

I'm thinking i want to pick up a few of the Hydrotech pads. With the flex i have to go 6.5 inch correct?

Thanks much.

Does the Flex felt ring come lubed from the factory? This was a problem before.

Don't overdo the oiling of that ring, and try to make it *not* matter. What I mean is, don't apply so much pressure that the backing plate gets pressed against the ring, especially when you're working with the pad/plate at an angle.

It's not like you should be grinding the backing plate against the housing or anything like that. I suspect Flex doesn't lube the ring because they don't expect the plate to really come into contact with it to any significant degree, they probably figure the felt ring is sufficient cushioning all by itself.

I have the blue ones, the LC orange pad is much better in my exoerience. Pick up some wool pads.

I haven't tried the Hydrotech pads yet, but I really like how the orange Griot's polishing pads (very different from most "orange pads" and presumably about the same as the LC tangering Hydrotechs) work via Flex.
