Why to or not to use bonnets on my pc

Guys I really want to know what might be the reason for using pads instead or bonnets. Pros and Cons. What is their best use?

Bonnets load up way to fast. When the product is caked on. It's like polishing with a layer of glue. You'll spend too much time trying to clean it out.

Also, Bonnets don't have a nice smooth conforming surface which spreads evenly like foam does. Besides many products today use the heat generated by the foams friction agasint the surface to do most work. Bonnets use the same principle as wool which cuts with the nap. This makes it more prone to buffer swirl, trail, or holograms.

The only good use I've found with bonnets is wiping dried hazed product off. It simulates manually toweling off hazed product, especially when the dried product is stubborn. In most cases though, I find that it's easier to do this task by hand.

Same here. I tried them for polish removal/etc. but the only thing they really work well for is taking off LSPs. Some polishes that are kinda LSP-like (think 1Z consumer polishes) will come off OK with bonnets but you'd better have a *lot* of them on hand as they load up quickly. Better have a second machine set up with the bonnets too- on with one machine off with the other.

Stick with foam for the application, for the reasons gtbaka mentioned.

I use my PC to apply my products w/foam pads then I use my old Craftsman buffer to take the product off but only the sealant and wax not the polish. I still have to use MFs on hard to reach places.
