Why does the price of shipping/handling cost $$$$

heh you reckon you guys have got in bad with shipping costs.

what about us guys in Australia

last order form pakshak cost me $65 US!
and previous to that was from ADS for $88 US!
 
It sucks because shipping is the main reason I don't order online as well.

I understand though, because the shipping profit you gain from small orders will compensate for the shipping loss you lose when people order a huge amount of items, obviously you have a big enough profit to cover for it as well, but company's will never take the hit like that.

Yeah it sucks like hell for someone who just needs a couple of things at a time and doesn't want to order in bulk or large quantities of items, but then the company has to either make the small orders bite the bullet or the big ones. You will always lose.

At the end of the day, all is done for the company's best interest and you will lose.
 
I also feel for those who, refrain from ordering on line because they only need one or 2 things and then add the cost of shipping...

But shipping isn't cheap, especially when it is beening done to someones home (there is an upcharge for UPS and FedEx). That is why I try to lump together my orders to keep my shipping costs down and have things sent to my place of business, to help our sponsores keep their shipping costs down.

In the long run I feel I am getting a good deal.

Now imagine the added cost of hazmat to an order from a supplier.Some of the cleaning agents we use for pressure washing carry and additional $85+ hazat on t op of the S&H.
Yes I can get raw chemicals locally and mix them myself for about $40,however,chemistry isn't my strong point and I prefer to keep my eye sight and limbs.Some of the stuff we use if mixed in the wrong ratios can generate excessive heat,as well as,explode.
The last order we received was a liitle over $300....$130 of that was S&H and hazmat.The upside is I won't have to order that product again until the fall.We are fortunate that some of our chemicals can be purchased in drum kits and mixed with water when they get to us.The hazmat is less but the S&H are the same.
