Why do I find optimum so NOT agressive?

Agreed. Optimum Compound is hands down the best compound I have used via PC. Good, decently fast results (even faster with a new version I am trying out) and even with a burgandy Meguiars pads on black paint, the finish is pretty much LSP ready. The abrasives in the compound (and polish too) break down via friction, not heat so you do have to bump up the speed, make slow passes and use some pressure for best results. If you are just letting the weight of the PC do the work, lots of luck.

Well, I've been quite disappointed with OCC results. Even with the Meg's cut pad,

I am not getting any effective cut. I stepped up to the rotary, and I think I can

see some progress. Other products I use do a much faster job with cutting and leveling.

As far as finish goes, it doesn't seem to do any better job than PowerGloss, however,

it does not dust much, so that is a plus to some extent.



I've only used it a few times (4 to be exact), so I will take some more time to experiment.

But so far, I am not really impressed with the compound.
 
The DAS polishing pad is way to soft for OCP, try the SFX white pad, much more firm, which will transfer more energy to the surface.
 
I just used the OCP with a firm white polishing pad (Bosch DA @ 6 = 24000 OPM) and it works beautifully! It breaks down quickly, and with moderate pressure removed the dog paw scratches in no time.



I LOVE IT!



Next up is a test car with a heavily scuffed finish for the OCC! Can't wait!
