It seems to me that my orange pad and blue pad are unable to get scratches out. Not cobwebbing rather semi deep scratches.

I rather not wetsand or fill with langka or any other solutions, I rather solve my problems via my PC.

Suggestions :)

all I have used so far is pinacle scratch remover, Orange pad, and 3M finesse it orange and blue pads

The highest RPM I go at is about 5700 rpm's.

Do I need a more aggresive polish or pad? if so what kind, and which product...obviously I will purchase at autogeek.net but like I said I rather not go buy more products.

This is for a friend so I have no pictures at the momento.

Thanks

If they're as deep as they sound, I'd say that your not going to be able to fix it with the PC. You only have so much paint to work with and when you get to the bottom, there just isn't anything left to fix. You would be best off to fix the problem and maintain it.

Some of the scratches seem to be on top of the paint but my 3M doesnt seem to wanna take it off. I dunno, just pretty annoying.

The PC does have its limits. Many polishes are engineered to cut the most with the heat generated by a high speed polisher(rotary). Some say an orbital only hides scratches. The people who say this have been in the industry a long time. I disagee with this though. I have personally removed scratches with my Cyclo, but it to to has its limits. You may need to find someone who is skilled with a rotary to polish out the scratches.

i would suggest a different polish for example SSR2.5 or something simular to that nature also i would try Propel pads or sfx pads or simular im not to fond of 3m polish nor pads but that just me....good luck and im sure the pro will chime in.....

*but remember i have no pics to see how deep r they ......deep wear you can pick at it with your fingernail and do you see primer.....

there are many talented detailer hear to fill you in and have you had a chance to look in click and brag to see before and after to get an idea to show us an example of your problem.....

:work:

You need a more agressive polish.

Finesse it is a light cut polish. If I interpret 'semi-deep' scratches correctly. You can probably go with something of a medium cut. Never used PB's products, but I think a lot of people have success using it with the PC. If you like 3M, try the machine polish.

The only other product I've tried, that autogeek sells is Optimum, which I've never tried with a PC. The instructions read for a rotary.

Cosmom3- I haven't tried correcting my '97 yet, but I expect to need something stronger than what you're using (stronger machines and stronger products).

If working by PC, for scratches I'd use a 4" pad it as makes the PC much more aggressive. I'd probably use 3M PI-III RC followed by PI-III MG but those products have been discontinued and are getting hard to find. They *are* still out there though...

And yeah, gotta know when to say "good enough". Better imperfect original paint than a need for a repaint.
