Why almost no professional detailers use Zaino?

Zaino might cost more, but a little goes a long long way. I think many people - pros especially - just love to hate the stuff, regardless of how great the durability is.

I find it extremely easy to use. If it's complicated or difficult, you're doing it wrong.

I use it on certain colors. Yes it has it's own look but most customers absolutely love it. It can be dificult in a very small % of cases but I think it is worth it. Also, carnubas life of protection is very short. Unless you are servicing a customer once a month it is not beneficial to that customer. They need protection to last longer.

Just not a fan of Optimum sealants.

I have tried almost all of them and have compared most of them side by side. At one time having ten black cars with ten different LSP's on them sitting in a row. Z5 for sealant and PS for a nube came out on top.

But once again it comes down to a personal preference!!

But I don't think there is anything about Zaino that says you can't use it as a professional.

I've used many waxes/sealants in the last 20 years, but my recent all time favorite is Zaino. I've never had 1 problem with it and I find it to be the absolute easiest product to apply. I can put it on jet black paint in 95 degree full Florida sun without 1 single problem. (yes, I know others can be applied that way too). After using it the first couple times it gets easy to master its application. I like smearing in a super thin layer (barely visable) to the whole car and I remove it immediately. No whited out trim and the water beads off the surface like bullets. I also set up all my customers on a Zaino maintenance package and I get nothing but rave reviews. They actually love using their products so much that they spread the word to their friends which in turn gives me more business. I can't say that about any of the other products I've recommended prior. No wonder why no other product has such a cultlike following! Oh, and Sal is one of the nicest, most personable guys you'll find.

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!

Is this the case with Adams as well? I never see a professional detailer on this, or any other forums [except The Junkman] who use Adams polishes in their details.

More like a lot of us hate the way some people push it, but that's not why I don't use it. Just not that impressed with it, really don't see anything that makes it particularly special. Decent enough stuff but so are a lot of other products.

It is easy to use if you go with ZAIO + Z2/Z5 or Z-CS. But what gets pushed big time by the faithful is using ZFX'ed Z5 or Z2, 3 layers total with Z6 in between then finishing with Z8 or Z-CS. That is not a quick process at all.

I think um one of the few who know the junkman2000 vids.(that guy is hilarious).

i dont know why, but I have gotten nowhere with adams

I never use ZAIO or Z-CS and don't use ZFX or Z8 too often. People like to apply multiple coats, but it's not required. I think people enjoy layering it because it's so easy to do and it doesn't smell all that bad either.

Yes, it has a special audience associated with it, but why? Besides what I mentioned, can anyone tell me why people who like Zaino like it so much? What's the rationale, especially if the product isn't that good per se?

Zaino has excellent durability but the slickness compared to Blackfire is not even close. To each his own. Polish the vehicle and do whatever you want and the car will look great.

I really like BF too, but doesn't the slickness attribute come from the silicone oil?

I couldn't tell you. I just know I get a solid 3-4 months out of a daily driver and even weeks down the road, it still stays cleaner longer and has a nice feel to it after 6-8 weeks. I have Zaino, just only use it when customers request it. The only time people clients request it are the Corvette guys and sometimes the older model BMW guys.

I wonder if in 2020 someone will be like hey, do you have any Blackfire Sealant? I hear it use to be awesome.

I still use it on occasion, but with so many LSP's on my self it isn't my first pick.

But there are certain colors and customers that warrant it.

This customers car LSP process went like this. Z2 (pic below).

Next appointment ZAIO+Z5,

Next appointment PS + OS

Next appointment EZ-Creme Glaze and 476.

Customer wants Z2 back and I think it looked the best, plasticy or not. And no he didn't know it was Zaino.

i tried zaino when i owned my red camaro ss.....i applied 3 coats (took all day).....the car look great for about 2 weeks and thats it.....people hype it up so much, i dont have the heart to use it on my customers cars.....they pay me top dollar (for my area) and i wouldnt wanna give them a shine that only last 2 weeks.....the only thing i buy from is Z-6 and thats it......

IMO, it beads for a really long time, if that is what you are after, then its perfect. The looks drop off faster than BFWD and when I was using it (up to 2005/6) I was getting water spot etching and bird bomb etching, the kind that had to be polished out. I don't have those isssues with carnauba, the Collinites, Megs, OPT stuff or BFWD. I don't need something that beads water for 6+ months, I need something that protects my paint.

I used to use zaino before the pro version came out and was never a fan of the plastic look. i hear now that it mimics a nuba closer, i have a sample bottle sitting on my desk just waiting for me to polish out my wifes mdx and trying out again.

it sure is tough to beat that bfwd but another member on a forum surprisingly had longer durability w/ zaino than bfwd during pollen season so we'll see

Maybe the question should be why not are more detailers using Collinite? Zaino has that premium name...Collinite is cheaper and no marketing frills...mixing time: zero seconds.
