Who's using a *specific* wheel wax / window sealant

I posted a thread awhile back as I always used Aquapel on my windows.

The consensus, was the Aquapel (dedicated windows sealant) was still even better than my preferred WOWO sealant - Optiseal.

For my wheels, I use any leftover sealant - as the pressure washer makes quick work of a sealed wheel. Sonus Acrylic as well as Z5....

Just curious what are ya'll using. I'm inclined to buy a bottle of rejex, just because.....so many are using it on their wheels. But then , I'll just have a bigger stash of wheel sealants ....and do I really need that much.

Nanoskin BrakeDust is the best I've found for wheel sealants. Usually lasts around 3 months per application, or longer, and you just spray it on a clean wheel, wait 15 minutes and buff out. As for windshield sealants we also use Aquapel, now called Trico View.

For wheels I like the uber hated Poorboys wheel sealant or Optiseal if I am in a hurry. The PBWS is one of the strongest chemical cleaner/sealant combos there is. Even after a dedicated harsh wheel cleaner, the PBWS will get more stuff off the wheel. I actually use it (and optiseal) with large cotton makeup pads as it totally trashes any applicator.

I've yet to find a true transparent sealant...for wheels with high polished uncoated wheels.... Granted the more high polished it is, the more hydroscopic the metal becomes....every sealant I have in my stash on high polished uncoated wheels always leaves film....that takes the high polished quite a couple notches down.

Might save us all some time if you list what you've tried. Also have you done a blind test to make sure its not your mind?

I'm currently using and testing CQuartaz on my wheels. I have had it on for about 4 months now and they still look great and release dirt very well. I clean with regular Megs GC and Water. Oh an this is on VW jetta. So terrible brake dust.

That would be the perfect vehicle for a wheel sealant test.:heh:

My DD doesn't throw a lot of brake dust, but I've found OptiGuard has helped other crap from sticking to the barrels. Tar specks come off with no effort, if they even stick in the first place. ONR during the weekly wash is all it takes to clean them.

OptiGuard what is that ???? Never heard of this product....

I use G1 on my windshield. Over 6 months and working like the day I applied her.... it is not on every vehicle my family and girlfriends family owns. I love this stuff. It makes driving in the rain a breeze. As far a wheels I have DP wheel glaze but dont use it much. Probably should though.

Have tried, CG Jet Seal (like it), SV Autobahn (nice look, but not too durable?), FK1000P, (decent look and durability) and Klasse (meh)

Right now I'm mostly using Jet Seal

HTH.

Oh, on glass I've been giving CG WMF a try.

I've always used 845. Pretty bullet proof in my opinion.

I wasn't too impressed with 845 on wheels until I started layering it at the suggestion of somebody here, that made a nice diff.

The FK1000P works great for me; one application lasts a while and several make for good durability.

The KSG is still my durability champ, but only when I use 4-6 layers. Oughta try that many with the FK1000P sometime, but that stuff's a little tricky to layer.

Jury's still out on my OptiCoated Tahoe wheels....

Prima Wheel Armour for wheels -- lasts about twice as long as 845, FK1000P, or 476 for me.

Adam's glass sealant for the windows - works better than Rain-X, lasts forever, and only have to use a tiny amount. I also wax my windows whenever I wax the car with whatever I'm using.
