Whitehorse Auto Spa: 1998 Pontiac Sunfire

WAS

Driven
Alright, so I've seen my fair share of dog hair. I've even seen hay (yes, straw hay) all over the interior of a vehicle. But, I've never spent so much time vacuuming dog hair. This particular dog (whom I actually know personally), has the worst hair on the planet for the interior of a car.

Steps involved were a quick vinyl clean and dress, the obvious massive vacuuming job, and a quick shampoo of the seats and floor. The carpets were really trashed with ground in mud, dirt, gravel and salt, so they didn't come out as perfect as possible, but the client's main concern was the removal of all the dog hair, not the stains in the carpet.

Anyways, onto the pictures:

man that is just down right nasty LOL. I have to say though i have seen my fair share of vehicles like that. Nice cleanup on the dog hair. It can be a challenge depending on the kind of interior carpet it has.

Vehicles such as older Pontiacs such as that, Volks Wagon, Lexus RX Suv's just to name a few have horrible carpet when comes to stuff like sand and dog hair.

Looks great though!

OK you win, you do worse stuff than I do lol. I've had close to that, but not so completely and throughly trashed. Is this the vehicle you were playing with the tornado on? Seems like it came out great from the pics.

Great save! If I was you I woulda taken out the carpet and pressure washed it. Probably more work than it's worth but hey it's a fun time! lol

That is officially the worst interior I have ever seen posted here, actually looks worse than the PT Cruiser I looked at that a couple of crackheads and their infant lived in for a month.

You have to wear a biohazard suit when you cleaned it? :lol

Looks a lot better, too bad it will be quickly undone.

Yeah, the seat fabric was terrible, just kept the hair glued to it !

That is just nasty! How can anyone let their car get like that?

Probably a few years of non-detailing, along with -50F winters, road salt / sand / muck, and a very hairy dog :)

Yep, this was the same interior I sent you that PM on about the vents being stubborn. I've gotten better with the tool though, plus I ordered the brush add-on, I think that will really help.

Thanks ! I would have, but the cost would have gone up of course. The main concern from the client was the dog hair. The carpets came out fairly clean (from a water / shampoo perspective), just those stains wouldn't come out.

Wow, I'm not sure I'd even touch that with a 20 ft. poll, yuck!

What a nice turn around though!!

Haha, there isn't a vehicle yet that I've turned away !

Thanks !

lol, thanks Scott, it was indeed a pretty bad interior. No bio-suit :nervous2: but definitely nitrile work gloves (actually, I refuse to detail anything without them). It should look pretty good for a while now, the dog has been banished from roaming free in the back seat on car rides :D

Wow! I did a Chevy Crapiler that was similar in condition to that one, except the owner was a chain-smoker and the car only had 20k (03) miles on it!

What did the exterior look like? Bad? Did you do anything to it?

Exterior had a few minor dents, one crack in the bumper. Paint was pretty much scratched all over, some scratches down to bare metal. A good 12 hours and the paint would have actually looked pretty good (understanding that with dents and cracks it can only look "so" good), but the concern was specifically the dog hair, so the exterior got nothing more but a wash.

time spent on the interior?

Roughly 4 hours. That included vacuuming, shampooing, vinyl cleaning, vinyl dressing and of course window cleaning.

if their car looks like that................(i think you see where i'm going)

good work though, i would have turned them down, lol

Nice job, this reminds me of a parts car I had to clean out once. It was stored with a bunch of parts piled in the interior. It looked like someone had spilled oil and then sprinkled kitty litter all over. Man that was a pain, I feel for you on this one.

lol, honestly, the client's home is really nice and they're generally quite clean folks. This was mainly thanks to a very hairy dog, and a very wet winter :) Thanks, I try to never turn anyone down.

Thanks ! I hear ya, this one needs to be seen by me again in a month or so, do another shampoo treatment, this time try and get some of the stains out.
