i did searches and found a lot of different posts.

what products are known to do this? sometimes it shows up later when it's too late. it would be nice to know before hand so we could take precautions. thanks.

these would include, but not limited to compounds, abrasives, SMR's, cleaners, polishes, glazes, conditioners, waxes, sealants, aerosol products, glass cleaners, solvents, & QD's.

if there is a list already, i would like to memorize it. thanks.

The best thing I have found at removing the white residue from black trim is an white office erasor. The kind that comes in a little block, it has to be white though, the pink ones don't work. I have found it will remove any wax residue from any trim. It is even good at getting into places that you can't get to with your fingers.

Give it a try, costs less than a buck :)

i agree 100%. that is the only thing i found that works consistantly. i still want to know what products cause this.

does anyone know exactly what substance in the products leave the concrete style stain?

YES they all do:D ...nah seriously

I always assume that products designed for paint will stain the trim...It is easier that way for me.....

I have yet to find a Glass cleaners, Trim protectant or QD that stained trim though.....I could be wrong though.

HTH

Most people here wouldn't be using it, but I know that Nu-finish stains trim badly.

But, the good ol' eraser trick works great! :D
