White stuff on black trim

After doing the job in this thread I've found that I've got some white stuff on my black trim The "smile" of the car as we say. It looks like paint overspray, but it's not!

It's not the NXT wax...I'm certain it's some of the polishing compound. It won't come out. Back to Black won't clean it off....303 won't help either. It usually does wonders for me at cleaning and loosening crud.

What can I use to get rid of this? There's a car show on father's Day...

As dumb as this may sound. Spread some Jif peanut butter on it and let it sit for about 20-30 minutes. The oils in the peanut butter will usually get rid of it.

can try the MR clean magic eraser, but make sure you dont get it on the paint

or an apc

The downside to that is that it's abrasive and could damage that plastic.

I'd hear that before, but forgot about it. Tried it...it worked for the most part! Going to re-apply in a few minutes.

Thanks for the reminder about that!

have you tried a trim restorer like poor boys? It seemed to clean pretty good from my experience.

I think that's more a dressing than a cleaner that covers up more than removes.

True but I used it to clean similar whiteish stains on plastics. I used an applicator pad. Worth a try, no?

+1 for that. Ferrari or Ford, peanut butter is what I always use to remove wax/polish residue!
