Client just wanted a wash and wax. Quick $70 dollars.

Time, about 2 hours

Process:

wash using meg's deep crystal

Another wash

wheels and tires next same method

Wax using Optimum Spray Wax

Tires are wearing Meg's Hot shine gel

You can tell from a few of the pictures that the car really needed to be clayed, but the owner didn't want it.

The car hadn't been washed in months, so the dirt was really on there. The car only has 24k miles, so it wasn't that bad.

Ran out of day light, so the after pics are in the shop...forgot to get an after of the exhaust .

Oh, and let me tell you, it's really hard to get a brush in between those tires and fender wells, same goes with in between the wheels and the calipers/rotors :scared:

Was running out of daylight, sorry - i really wanted to get a 50/50 of the back end! wish you guys could have seen that.

Oh, i used a lambswool mitt for the paint and a MF towel for the wheels (forgot my HD grout sponge). im thinking i should have used some opti-seal instead of the optimum spray wax, im thinking i would have gotten a lot more wetness out of the paint...the before picture of the back end really doesn't do justice, it was terrible. i wish i would have gotten a close up.

Josh, i had a brush, but it was short and bulky...it worked great on the rears because the brakes weren't in the way, but the fronts not so much. i would have taken a picture of the rears instead, but they weren't in good light while i was taking pictures. but you can def. tell a difference it makes them shine A LOT more.

thanks for the compliment btw

I know how difficult it can be to do the inner wells on the rims in the front. The new Z06 front brakes are huge and make it difficult to get inside those, rims, sometimes I even use my hands and just rub the dirt off. Do whatever it takes to get it perfectly clean.

Yours was a nightmare with all that dirt ontop of white paint. I think you did well, keep honing your skills and learning, that's what I do.:2thumbs: :buffing:

BTW, spray waxes never seem to last very long, if someone is paying you to wax it, I'd go with something other then a spray wax.

Sorry to be such a critic, just trying to help.:sadwavey:

^^i dont mind the constructive criticism, i wouldn't be able to learn without it. a couple months back i did a wash/clay/wax on a bullit mustang and today i did another wash/interior clean. the wax i used was optimum spray wax. after rinsing i took pictures of the beading, so i know the OSW has at least 2 months durability. ill be making a thread of that detail in a few minutes

thanks again!

It might last that long if it's washed maybe once or twice in two months. Spray wax generally has a very short life unless it's something like Duragloss AquaWax, of which I wouldn't even count on to last 2 months with regular washes.

Just like Josh said, next time use an actual paste or liquid wax. So, now you know and you can keep improving! Thanks for posting and sharing.

im thinking that for future details what im going to start doing is using optiseal on light colors for obvious reasons and PB's blue on darker colors, looks good and easy to remove
