Well while i was home on leave (just got back into iraq 3 days ago)...

i was able to give my car a good detailing and get plenty of time on the road.

I tried to take my car just about everytime we visited family and also on our

trip to dallas on my way back to iraq. It was great. Here are some pics.

I just wanted to take the time to thank you for your service to our great country!! It's courageous people such as yourself that allow all Autopians to live & detail in peace!! Have you found any detailing products over in Iraq??

LET? lol... they MAKE us detail our vehicles lol. The US Army is like the most anally retentive grandmother you've ever had or known :) Every plate, knickknack, pencil, pen, cloth, everything... has it's place and orientation in that space, and all other pieces like it in it's vicinity must be arranged in exactly the same way... to the inch... spotless and perfect. ;) so yes. lol we detail our tanks.

No i haven't found any products over here... i used all local products... dint have the chance to order stuff online before i found out i was heading home... it was pretty sudden. I used mostly mequire's but i'm looking forward to using some higher end products.

that was just... Dawn soap wash, clay, light wash, reclay, another light wash (this time hit all the nooks and crannies), hand polish, hand glaze, meguire's paste wax... and it sucked... it's rough on and tough off... I'm definitely looking forward to slapping some p21 on there. Oh well tho... did what i could with what i had.

ArmyZ- Glad you were able to decompress a little by doing some detailing. Stay safe over there. And yeah, your service is appreciated.

What I meant is that if you are looking for samples and I have what you are looking for I can send you some to try. many people on this board will exchange products instead of buying a new container w/o knowing if it is going to work for them. maybe some of the other guys would be interested in chipping in and send you some samples as well. most of the products I use are best used with a PC though.

Well thanks a lot. I'll keep ya in mind for when i get back in about 3 mo's.

I want a PC ;) but i currently have other things to spend $$ on... unfortunately a new marriage is very expensive... as are most things beautiful and complete (i mean look at the Z ;) )

Congrats on the marriage, great thing to find your soulmate.

Be safe and thanks again for all you do for myself and family

not to mention the rest of the country. the armed services is

not appreciated or recognized enough if you ask me.

Well if you decide to get a PC down the road, need advice or

want to swap products let us know.

I would also like to sincerely thank you for serving on behalf of myself, my wife, and my daughter.

Thanks!

Adrian

It's my pleasure. The few amount of people that i actually believe sincerely appreciate their freedoms make doing what i do worthwhile...

Thanks guys... and i'll be sure to hold you guys to your words about help and product samples. ;) I appreciate it.

ArmyZ, hey man, I have been there twice. It sucks. No lie! lol I did the same thing when I came home. I detailed the crap out of my Audi, as my ex-wife neglected it to unbelievable lenghts... It is quite a soothing endeavor to work on a car you love. Good for you for purchasing the car you wanted.

My advise for you, besides the obvious, is to make sure you "live for today." Enjoy what you have, and appreciate the things you dont. Everything comes to an end, and your tour will be iver before you know it. You will then have another HUGE obstacle to face....

BEING AN AUTOPIAN!!!! lol. I tell you buddy, it is a sickness! I love it! lol

Take care, and we will see you soon!

;) Thanks bud. The time seems to be CREEPING by now... 2 months to go and it feels like an eternity. Leaving the wife behind for a second time was harder on both of us than it was initially... i just can't wait to get home... finish my degree and start a family. anyways... ttyl

IT IS THE SOLDIER

by Charles M. Province

IT IS THE SOLDIER, not the reporter,

Who has given us freedom of the press.

IT IS THE SOLDIER, not the poet,

Who has given us freedom of speech.

IT IS THE SOLDIER, not the campus organizer,

Who has given us freedom to demonstrate.

IT IS THE SOLDIER, not the lawyer,

Who has given us the right to a fair trial.

IT IS THE SOLDIER who salutes the flag,

Who serves under the flag and

Whose coffin is draped by the flag,

Who allows the protester to burn the flag.

I wonder how many Autopians here are in the Profession of Arms ? myself included, officer in the Canadian Armed Forces.

We just got a truckload of canadians and australians at my base. They are going to occupy it with the new guys coming to replace us ;) Good ol' 4th ID...

I love that poem... i've seen that before...

Been serving almost 17 years...Had to pleasure of going to Afghanistan last year. Thanks for all you do. People don't truly understand the sacrifices that are given up. One can't understand until you walk in those shoes.
