Hey, what wheel wax or sealant do you guys recommend? I just got my first set of chrome rims and I'm not sure what to put on them exactly. thanks again :)

I've got Poorboy's and DP wheel sealants... they both work pretty well, it's hard to pick a favorite. I use those on my own rims, but for other cars, I just spray them down with Aquawax and wipe off. It's quicker and easier.

It's been a while since I've had chrome wheels, but over the years I've used a *lot* of different LSPs on chrome and none of them ever caused a problem. I've used a lot of LSPs on chrome centercaps, and that's pretty close to being a wheel...just get 'em clean before you apply the LSP so you don't seal something nasty in.

And remember that wheel cleaners will clean off LSPs ;)

I use PB Wheel sealant. If I didnt have it, I'd probably just use OCW or any other spray wax for ease of use.

What would be the difference between a wheel sealant and a good car sealant on wheels..

say if you used collinite...Klasse and Werkstatts on wheels...if the last and perform on car paint why not on wheels..does the wheel sealant offer more of something they do not...

I have used Collinite metal wax on uncoated aluminum wheels and it lasts for a long time..I used Klasse SG and collinite wax and coated wheels and it lasts a long time...

what does a wheel sealant offer that these do not...curious....

AL-53- I've wondered about that myself. I've been completely satisfied with my "regular" LSPs on wheels :nixweiss

I've even used carnaubas that "oughta get soft from the heat and let stuff stick" but I didn't have any problems that I can recall other than having to redo them frequently.

I've got klasse aio :) i can try some of that. I just picked up a jar of "wheel wax" from autozone to try also before I spent money on anything expensive. I'm just lookin for somethin to help minimize water spots mostly

I use Zaino Z2 followed by Zaino Clear Seal, and it works, but as said before, any LSP will work it'll just come down to how frequently it needs to be applied. FWIW, I have polished wheels and recoat them with Zaino about once a month or so.

You would use any LSP on chrome?

No, not any, like I said, I use zaino z2 and CS. But you could use any, it just depends your preference in looks, durability, ease of use, etc.
