Which Wax To Top NXT ??

im currently using NXT and im more than happy with the finish it gives my car, its better than:



Zymol Carbon

Turtle Wax Original

Meguiars DC System

Meguiars Gold Class

Clearkote Vanilla Moose

Poorboys EX-P

AutoGlym Super Resin

AutoGlym Extra Protection



im ONLY giving that list so that people dont suggest products i already own........



the only problem im having with NXT is that it attracts a lot of dust, and i dont like its beading effect



im wondering what to use to go over it, the weather here in the UK is starting to get worse and ill admit i hardly wax during the winter



i need something durable that doesnt attract dust, gives a carnauba style beading, and is easy on easy off, or ill simply end up not using it in the long run



my first thoughts are P21s or #16, ill probably give the EX-P a try, the Zymol IMO is probably the best of them all, very easy on and off, great finish, but it doesnt last very long @ all



ive recently got the NXT booster spray wax so ill see what its like on dust after ive used that, but im pretty certain im going to want to go over it with something else for the winter....

WOW! I've used NXT and it's a good consumer product, but to say it's better than the above is pushing it a bit. I've used VM, and EX and to me NXT is not even in the same class. I've heard some great things about the AutoGlymn stuff as well. I topped NXT with S100 and it look rather nice.

i dunno why but i really do get a lot better finish with NXT than all those products...
 
i dont own P21s or #16, but im willing to purchase either



and i dont know whats diff about it this time, but my NXT is now beadin like a carnauba !........it wasnt doin that before ?....



oh well its the durability and the dust problem that id like to solve, yes its supposed to be very durable, but so far im not sure it will last a winter too well

can other people just confirm that it isnt a dust magnet like NXT ?

I guess I don't think NXT is a dust magnet but why not just top everything but leave half your hood un-topped. I tried this with NXT and #16 and I saw no difference in shine, depth or dust attraction. I have this on a vehicle done towards the end of April and it is still holding up well. I figure four months isn't too bad for a daily driver that gets garaged evenings. So Now I will re-detail this vehicle for winter and I'm doing the exact same thing. I'll leave half the hood un-topped and see how it holds up through winter.

ill see how my spray wax boosted NXT copes for the moment and ill take the advice of what this thread decides sometime soon
 
If you're looking to a brutal/cold winter, the S100 is not a wise choice. It will look good for a few weeks. The #16 on the other hand has been showing months of durability and there's not *that* much difference in the look of the two.
 
well thats what i need, most of you guys get a lot better weather over there than we do here, it rains about 90% of the time....



id say we got 6 weeks of sun at most this year
 
What happens when the wax starts to wear off, do you have to take off all of the wax and do nxt and 16 again, or can you just put another coat of 16 on?

You can just put on another coat of #16.
 
If you are a beading-guy, the little, tight wonderful beads of Collinite 845 are hard to beat. And it is one of the most durable stuff you can buy.
